Description of 1933 Other Makes 1933 Vale Special |
Extremely rare 1933 Vale Special in the US. It is estimated there are fewer than 30 Vales worldwide and only 3 are in the states. It has also been listed as one of 50 most obscure vehicles in the world. Actual number of Vales originally made is highly disputed and varies from 46-103. This Vale is special indeed as it was the trials vehicle owned by the partner (Robert Owen "Bang"Wilcoxon) who was in charge of the manufacturing side of Vale Motor Company. It is more than 90% original and is a strong runner. Each Vale was hand made to exacting standards in a 1500 square foot factory in London, ngland. They were designed with a very low center of gravity to provide excellent cornering. Not considered particularly fast, he 10.8 HP, 32 cc four cylinder engine was capable of speeds up to 72 mph. Although every Vale was special, his particular Vale is the only one known to have a cast aluminum head as opposed to cast iron. Its specialness is also evident by little touches throughout the car which shows that there was special consideration put into its construction. Moving and downsizing is requiring the sale of this truly rare gem of automobile history. The car also caught the attention of Jay Leno, ho put a verbal value between $40-45K as it is now. I have much of the history and documentation of the car dating back to the 1950s. Also included is a rare book about the complete history of the Vale, u>Ave Atque Vale. |
