Description of 1978 Other Makes |
I bet you have not seen one of these before. This is a 1978 Chevrolet Van constructed by an older gentleman who had a lot of experience in the aviation industry. As you can see, his is a very unique camper. It looks like a combination of a Chevy van, n Airstream trailer and a Boeing jetliner -- I have not yet figured it out. This is not your grandmother's camper. Above the cab rests a large sleeping berth with two porthole windows, hich will give you a nice morning light when you wake up. The interior is surprisingly roomy and can sleep four people. The unit is outfitted with a space saving drop down table, furnace, tove, efrigerator, athroom, nd storage compartments. The craftsmanship on the wood interior is amazing.Proof of the builder's talent lies in his attention to detail. The interior is finished in a beautiful wood. There are few people who would be capable of building a unit like this. The frame has been stretched, he floors are solid and both the rear door and windows function. This unit comes with a 350 v8 automatic. It runs down the road OK. It just finished a 300 mile trip, ut it has a minor exhaust leak. When you pull this into a camp ground, urning Man or the local grocery store, am almost positive you will be greeted by smiling and curious faces wanting to know more. Everywhere I go, rowds seem to appear out of nowhere Everything is there andthis unit is complete. It could use some freshening. A polish job would make it look incredible. If you don't like meeting new people, his is not the vehicle for you. Selling"as is" and without warranty. I encourage all bidders to view the unit in person before bidding. I can be reached at (310) 990-8628 if you have any questions. Overseas buyers are welcome. I have a good contact for shipping for both overseas and domestic buyers. Loading on my end is not a problem. The camper is for sale locally and the auction can end at anytime. I was at the Barrett Jackson auction and this would have entertained the folks there. |
