1965 Sunbeam Tiger MK1 Description 1965 Red Sunbeam Tiger MK1 Authentic Sunbeam Tiger finished in Signal Red Sunbeam Tigers Owners Association Certificate of Authenticity, No. 0938 I.D. tags are fixed with original rivets Performance 260 Ford V8 Engine 4 Speed manual transmission Upgraded stance with new VTO 15 inch alloysMotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this handsome and rarely seen a true 1965 Sunbeam Tiger MK 1 sports car. This is the true classic motorsport enthusiast’s car, combining the nimbleness of a British roadster, with the primal grunt of American muscle. Made even more desirable with its own Certificate of Authenticity from the Sunbeam Tigers Owners association. Included with this car is a list of recent repairs totaling over $4200. The Sunbeam Tiger is a high-performance V8 version of the British Rootes Group ‘s Sunbeam Alpine roadster, designed in part by American car designer and racing driver Carroll Shelby and produced from 1964 until 1967. Rootes also entered the Tiger in European rallies with some success, and for two years it was the American Hot Rod Association’s national record holder over a quarter-mile drag strip. Finished in “Signal Red”, this roadster shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. All the trim is present and is brilliant and displays normal wear. The JAL tag no. 562817 is fixed to the cowling with the original rivets. The optional front and rear bumpers (equipped with over-riders) fit is extremely tight and finish is exquisite. The weather-stripping is pliable, with little or no signs of drying, tearing or shrinkage. The “minilite” style wheels represent well with no major signs of marring or curb rash. The black canvass convertible top fits very well with no visible tearing, and the rear window are extremely clear. The car has a black boot that functions as designed and is in great condition. Inside, the rich black vinyl front bucket seats highlighted with red piping look fantastic. The rear cargo compartment looks great with no major signs of wear visible. The matching black door panels, carpet and dashboard are a striking contrast to the red exterior of the car and look fantastic. All gauges are ergonomically placed and have correct appearance and function as originally designed. The Grant wooden steering wheel and black padded dashboard adds to the period feel. This Sunbeam Tiger features a 260cid V8 engine (#4465 F21KA) with a Ford twin-choke 2 barrel carburetor, 4-speed manual transmission, polished aluminum valve covers, AC breather and air cleaner, dual exhaust, rack and pinion steering, Girling front disc brakes and rear drums. The 15 inch VTO alloy wheels wrapped in 205/50-r15 Yokohamas tires create a very serious track look and offer even more road grip. Why a ’65 Sunbeam MK 1?, well let’s see…small number of authentic Tigers available, small blocks are easy to drive and maintain, and oh yeah, brides love red convertibles! GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! Current mileage on the odometer shows 67,066, it is sold as is and is mileage exempt. The car is being sold on a clean & clear title.
