Description of 1952 Other Makes Morris Oxford MO |
1952 Morris Oxford MO 32,000 miles. Runs and Drives Great Designed by Alec Issigonis it has a 1.5-litre sidevalve (flathead) engine with 41bhp @ 4000 rpm and a Column shift 4speed gearbox.Specs show a top speed of 71 mph and 0-60 mph in 31.1 seconds. Suspension is torsion bar front and leaf spring rear, rack & pinion steering and hydraulic 9"drum brakes. This Morris was purchased from the original owners in 1981 by the man I bought it from. He bought it while he was stationed at an Air Force base in England. He had the brakes repaired, rust repair of the front fenders (wings) and painted then used the car in England until he had it shipped back to the USA in 1982 with 29,145 miles on it. Car does have it's original British registration (Log) book. Once back in the states he had the car converted to negative ground and replaced the generator with an alternator. The Morri, being Britis, does leak oil. New Parts I've installed: Brake master cylinder & wheel cylinders (same as MG TD) Brake Shoes and Hoses Fuel Pump Tires & Tubes Rear Shocks Steering Rack Boots Also a NOS Grille and New Hub Caps other parts and books are shown in the video's A Unique Car I don't think you will see in the next British car show among the Austin Jaguar Lotus MG Sunbeam Triumph Minor or Mini. I added some pictures above with the Morris next to a Chevy Traverse to give an idea of it's size This is a unique car that I love to drive but I have to let some go. A review written in July 1995 in Classsic Motor Monthly can be read here: http://www.classicmotor.co.uk/oxford.htm Please watch both video's below, ask questions and do your research. They might seem long but I wanted to show it in different lighting and as much detail of this car as possible since it isn't something you see everyday! The best description is to watch the video's below. Come Look at The Car if You Can. Pungo area of Virginia Beach I have described this Morris the best I can. Please Read what I wrote and review all the photo's and video's.
