Up for auction is a '59 Borgward Goliath, Hansa 1100 Combi. It was barn stored for 30 yrs, and is why it's in such good condition. I bought it some 35 yrs ago to restore, it needed a timing gear but we couldn't find one at the time. We took the engine apart to get measurements for the gear, but that's as far as we got and I have other projects now. All the glass is good, there is about a 3 inch crack in the windshield. The body is in pretty fair shape with a minimum of rust as it was kept dry. The back seats are even in there as you can see from the photos- they had been folded forward and covered and they're in pretty fair shape. The dash and interior in the front area is in good shape as it was closed up and protected in the barn, and I believe the radio still works. The tires still hold air, but after sitting for many years, they should probably be replaced. All the parts for the engine minus the timing gear are there in back, and there is a minimum of rust and corrosion as it was closed up while stored. This car ain't perfect by any means, but it's a pretty good barn find. Being retired now I can help somewhat with packing it up preparing it for shipping when that time comes. If you have any questions or if you need more detailed pictures send me a note and I'll be glad to get 'em for you. Thanks for looking, and best of luck.
