This is a 1931 Auburn Boat Tail speedster project. A few years ago we started looking for a Boat Tail Speedster project. Unable to find one, we ended up purchasing a 1931 Auburn 8-98 Cabriolet instead. Before work got started on the Cabriolet, we got the chance to buy a Boat Tail Speedster body from a ACD Club member. He purchased the body from a Estate Sale with a bunch of other Speedsters parts. The Speedster body is a correct coach built Speedster body done by John League. We purchased the body with some extra parts, once receiving the body. We pulled the Cabriolet body off of the 1931 Auburn 8-98. And then placed the speedster body on the 1931 Auburn 8-98. So to be clear, This is a 1931 Auburn 8-98 Cabriolet, re-bodied in to a 1931 Auburn 8-98 Boat Tail Speedster. This is a very nice project on a very rare body style. Has the original Lycoming straight eight engine, duel side mounts, new convertible bows, re-chromed windshield frame, tail light stands/buckets/bezels, hood latches and windshield wiper motors. The Speedster is a very complete project, that is missing just a few small items that are reproduced in the ACD Club. We would look at a part trade towards the Auburn with a classic car restored or not. Or a unfinished street rod project. We have other cars and projects for sale on our web site wildironccc.com Please email with any questions you may have. There are inspection companies that can look at the car on your behalf, or a time can be set up to view the car.
