However. based on all original drive train. body and chassis matching numbers it is actually a 1930 2nd Series Graham Model 822 with Production Start Date of January 1930 as compiled from such sources as Horseless Carriage Club of America. Graham-Paige factoryliterature. Automobile trade Journal & NADA Used Car Guides to name a few. Body # 318 631 Chassis # 660 633 Motor# 665 651 Based on our world-wide research we believe this to be the only restored 1930 Graham of its model and accessories. There are many 6 cylinder models but very few 8 cylinder models. The engine(298. 6 cu. in. 100 bhp) has undergone a complete rebuild between 9/2009 -9/2013 at a cost of $15. 00. In addition. the Bendix/Zenith 10196A Single barrel updraft Carburetor was rebuilt. The only modifications that have been done are the addition of a new pressurized radiator. HD Electric Fuel Pump. Turn Signals and a 6 volt Alternator. Following is a brief history of this piece of Automotive Art:This beautiful automobile underwent a complete professional body-off restoration between 1980-82 after being used for several years as an Ad Car for TrulyNolen Pest Control in Phoenix. Arizona. Truly Nolen use to park antique cars in front of businesses to not only attract customers to the business. but also display their own advertising. Having always been located in desert environments since new. makes this a completely "Rust Free" piece of Automotive Art. Restoration included the fabrication of a metal trunk in the rear. complete re-upholstery in original mohair. complete engine rebuild and painted in 22 coats of hand-rubbed lacquer. The total restoration cost in 1980-82 dollars was $25. 00 plus the purchase price. In today's dollars the paint job alone would be close to that figure. It should also be noted here that the vehicle has never been involved in an accident of any kind. I acquired the vehicle in 1999 and have driven it on many tours. parades and showings throughout Arizona. Two weeks ago I hired European Detailers. Inc. (Detailers to Barrett-Jackson Auctions. Inc. ) in Scottsdale. rizona to perform a complete Detail Job (Inside. Outside. Underside. Engine and Interior) at a cost of $600. Included in the sale will be a personally signed Commemorative Edition Leather bound hard copy of "TheGraham Legacy: Graham-Paige to 1932" by Michael E. Keller. plus a high end indoor/outdoor waterproof car cover with felt lining. As beautiful as this car is. I have used it as a "Driver" and as such it does have a couple of very small paint chips plus one quarter size area of spider webbing on the passenger side front fender. (You have to get VERY CLOSE to see it) Also. there are 2 items that do not work: Fuel Gauge and Speed-o-meter. It does have a vacuum driven windshield wiper motor which I do not use since I do not drive in the rain. Everything else is excellent. including all of the original non-shatter plate glass windows.
