Description of 1929 Other Makes Peerless Model 61 |
Demo Video Drive Video # 1 Drive Video # 2 Up for bid from my collection is a 1929 Peerless Model 61 6 cylinder Deluxe Sedan. This is one of the finest original Peerless cars one could buy with only 39. 91 from new. This car never had a bit of rust ever and is strait as an arrow with excellent body fit and great factory wood in the body. This car is a true time capsule with its original mohair interior that is stunning for a car 85 years old. It even has the original 3 shades on the back including the rear smoking kit. The nickel robe rail and foot rest is there as well showing its original rear carpet and rubber front floor mat from new. This car has a heater as well as seen in the pictures including a fan on the steering column and basically everything works in the car including the gas gage. This is an amazing unhurt factory car that was in a long term collection for over 40 years before I purchased it. This car came with hydraulic brakes from the factory and I just completed a complete overhaul of the brake system with all new lines. rebuilt the master & wheel cylinders and checked all the brake shoes at a cost of almost $ 5. 00. 00 alone. One thing of the utmost is safety. The fuel system has been cleaned and the car was also recently tuned including new ignition wires and I removed the original factory wires from the car and amazingly it still ran great with them and they will go to the next owner. I also rebuilt the carburetor and installed a new and proper float. Because of the super original condition of the car it runs and drives like a 3 year old car and shifts beautiful and has a wonderful ride as a high quality car like this should. Motor has great compression as well and boast just under 70 horse power from the factory. The tires including the spare are like new with only minimal miles on them and the wood spoke artillery wheels are perfect and tight like a new one would have been. Now a far as all cosmetics of this car. the car has had a more recent high quality professional repaint in the original colors of green for the body with black fenders and belt line including the apple pin stripe removing the fenders and such so that everything was done to a high standard and finished on the underside of the fenders the way it left the factory. All the chrome plating was also done at the same time except for the bumpers and I just had those all done and put back on a couple of weeks ago. Back in the early days of motoring the Peerless was one of the finest American cars and the slogan was the “3 P’s” and stood for Packard. Pierce Arrow & Peerless. The Peerless like many other fine motor cars saw their demise due to the great depression after the 1929 stock market crash. The Best thing of all besides the rare and fabulous car you see here is the price. It is priced to sell and someone could get it for less than some good Model A sedans. Best of Luck to all.
