Description of 1956 Nash |
I purchased a 1956 Metropolitan from a friend of my dad's. the car has not been driven or moved since 1984. and the last time it has had tags was in 1985. I purchased it about a year ago and now have it back running & driving again. I believe from the owners of the Metropolitan Pit Stop in Hollywood. California that this car is the original & correct color combination from the tag on the firewall. It does have some small rust spots in both doors & a few scratches & dings from over the years of time that would need to be attended to if you were going to have it repainted. The following is a list of all the work I have performed on car: All brakes have been gone through such as a new brake master cylinder. brake light pressure switch. all new wheel cylinders all the way around and brake drums have been turned. All the brake lines have been blown out. nbsp;replaced front & rear brake hoses. all the fluids have been drained. hoses. gaskets and lines all replaced that needed to be as well as new gear oil in the rear end. Radiator core flushed out & record as well in spots that needed it along with new 160 thermostat upper & lower radiator hoses . new heater hoses. new plugs for the 1500cc motor carburetor rebuilt. New generator. new electric fuel pump. Transmission drained & serviced with new side plug gaskets. nd new clutch master cylinder. All lines cleaned & blown out with new slave cylinder hose & new slave cylinder. Installed new speedometer cable along with also refurbishing the fuel tank & fuel lines. The speedometer and gas gauge are in working order. Installed new wiper blades. tail lights chrome bezels. gaskets & lenses. All five wheels have been powder coated white along with spare tire cover & license plate light. Tires are old. but still in really good condition for there age. they even still have the brand new tire markings on the tires. The paint was cut lightly & polished for that shiny original Patina paint & body look. All the chrome & stainless & pop metal have been cleaned up or buffed & shined up. The door handle with lock has been rekeyed. Installed new ignition headlight switch & plastic bezel. The headliner. all the glass & weather stripping is all original along with the front seat from 1956. The door panels were cleaned up & repaired better than they came originally. The floor had a few small pin rust holes and the floor boards so lay overs were made and installed then the whole floor was prepped & painted & undercoated just like the factory. and then carpet was laid. The back seat was also redone to match the door panels. The steering wheel was cleaned up and repainted to match all of the black powder coating that has been done to the inside of the car such as the dash and all the windshield frame moldings & window moldings and the top of the doors where the door panel butts up too as well. along with a few more items black powder coated through out the car and under the hood like the oil bath air cleaner and the California license plates all redone to look also new again. The heater works & I installed new heater ducts. The only thing not working on the car is the windshield wiper motor and the turn signals. This vehicle comes as is and with no warranty.
