Description of 1980 Other Makes AMX AMX

Hi. You are bidding on what I would consider a time capsule. We bought this car from an older gentleman who lives in kenosha wi. Where this car was built and he also worked there when he bought his new AMX. He had parked the car for the last 13 years in his dry garage. As he had parked it he still maintained it. It has all new brakes and rotors. antifreeze looked like new when I got it . I changed the water pump and fuel pump. ust things I like to do when a car has sat so long. I also cleaned out the carb. Changed plugs and wires and this car runs and drives like new. He informed me he had got a dent in the passenger front fender and had it repaired. I would drive this car anywhere I might suggest a front end alignment it pulls slightly when you brake. As far as the body and floors and underside of car I see no cover ups . It looks like all factory never had rust don't have any dings to speak of. I wouldn't say laser straight. But no AMC ever was. I would say the car is the best survivor I have seen. I haven't tried to reprain't engine or tidy anything up I think the car speaks for itself with its well kept appearance. Although the front fender was resprayed it was blended perfectly. as far as the interior carpet looks like new the seat are a very little faded. it has a factory tach. I'm not sure why but it isn't working I have a friend coming to look at it tomarow. I will post if we get it working. It has an automatic shifter on the floor. as original spare and jack. however he did put an aftermarket c. d. player stereo in. dash is perfect. I do have a perfect AM FM. AMC stereo available to the winner for extra cost if interested. also has its original 258 engine with air conditioning that still works. might need a charge. Tilt wheel. horn works all lights as they should door sill plates are shiny like the day they came with the car. I believe this was the last year for the AMX. The clear title even states AMX. Electric trunk button works perfect. could use new hatch cylinders or shocks they are weak. Well I will post more pics this week. i didn't clean out the inside to my standards. whoever wins this car will be very happy with this reliable piece of American motors history.
