Description of 1925 Other Makes 23/25 2nd series sedan

This is probably the most original unmolested Jewett in the world. It has been carefully looked after and travelled just 20. 48 miles in 90 years. It was bought new by a hawker who died in 1982. with no immediate family. An American nephew inherited the estate. visited New Zealand and promptly sold everything. The second owner was Jack Morshuis who rarely used it. A Mr. Green bought it at auction in the late '80s and never used it at all. The present owner. Bernie Horn. bought it in 2009 with 16. 00 miles on the odometer. It has now travelled 20. 48 miles. I am listing it for him and the reason for sale is too many cars and not enough garaging. It has near new tyres. battery and brake linings. A feature of the Jewett is 4 wheel hydraulic brakes. The Jewett was made by Paige-Detroit Motor Car Company and named after its president. Harry Jewett. It is a 1925 2nd series model 23/25 five passenger de luxe coach. Chassis number: 271210. Engine number: 266325. The engine is a 4. 3 litre 50 HP side valve 6 cylinder. Wheel base is 112". shipping weight 3. 60 lbs. 40. 00 Jewetts were made before it was designated a 6-45 Paige in 1927. This lovely old car motors (and stops) very well. It seems that previous owners did not use the car to protect its outstanding original condition. They are only original once and surely are more interesting than a glitzy restoration. It could be converted easily to LHD if need be. The car is in Dunedin. New Zealand. It can be shipped directly from here to Los Angeles in its own 20' container. We have been told freight. including loading. is about US$2. 00. but that would need to be verified. Contact www. mainfreightautomotive. co. nz or email NZenquiry@mainfreight. com . The seller would deliver the car to Mainfreight for free. Starting at a realistic price with no reserve. A $500 deposit is required within 48 hours. This can be done via Paypal or direct deposit.
