Vehicle Details

This 1969 AMC Javelin SST was sold new by Siebert Rambler Inc. of Rochester, New York, and was acquired by me in 1993. work included a repaint as well as installation of a replacement 390ci V8, which sends power to the rear wheels through a Borg Warner T-10 four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes 15″ Rebel Machine wheels, power-assisted front disc brakes, staggered rear shocks, traction bars, black side stripes, a push-button radio, a Holley carburetor, a Comp Cams camshaft, Crane Cams roller rockers, Wiseco pistons, four-into-one headers, and an Edelbrock intake manifold and valve covers. the body was refinished in its factory shade of Big Bad Blue in 1994. The hood features dual simulated air inlets, and additional exterior details include black side stripes as well as SST and 390 badging. The car has various scratches around the body. The suspension has been modified with traction bars and staggered rear shocks and 90/10 front shocks. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in Charcoal vinyl, while woodgrain trim adorns the dashboard and door panels. Equipment includes a push-button AM radio, a heater, and lap belts. The three-spoke steering wheel sourced from a 1973 Gremlin X and fronts a clock, a 140-mph speedometer, and a tachometer with inset water temperature and fuel level gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 9k miles, though total mileage is unknown. The replacement 390ci V8 has been rebuilt with work including boring the cylinders .020″ over and balancing the rotating assembly. Additional modifications include the following parts and components:

Holley 750 carburetor

Edelbrock Torker intake manifold & valve covers

Wiseco pistons

401-specification cylinder heads, valaves 208/ 187

Comp Cams camshaft and valve springs

Chevrolet push rods

Stainless-steel valves

Crane Cams roller rockers

Floating wrist pins

Cloyes True Roller timing chain

Four-into-one headers

Dual exhaust system

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed Borg Warner T-10 manual transmission.

The owner’s identification card lists the vehicle identification number as well as delivery to Siebert Rambler Inc. of Rochester, New York.

After many years of ownership I used the original drivers identification card to track down the original owner. He still lived not far from me. He informed me that he worked at Siebert Rambler. He provided me with original photos of the car. You can see the car in the shop with the Siebert sign behind it. So this to me verifies this car is a real Big Bad Go-Pak, mod javelin. Not a clone or mock up nor tribute car. Outside of having a build sheet this would be second best. I do have an original mint roof top spoiler and factory sill plates that I will include. Other parts are available as well. Car was featured in a small article. Thought it was cool out of every Javelin picture on the web they selected mine.

With the rarity of the car it deserves more drive time and attention than I can give it . It is hard for me to sell this car after 30 years but as I age I wish to move into something more modern and fast of course. This is my first time selling a car on eBay so bear with me please. Of course if you have any questions at all please contact me.
