V8 International Harvester's rugged and most reliable engine at the time, coupled with the equally heavy duty T-15 4 speed (manual) transmission. This particular vehicle was maintained as an emergency vehicle for the Alpine, Texas Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Being a high desert, West Texas, vehicle there its currently no rust, as an inspection of the rocker panel bottoms reveals. Although several gauges are missing, and speedometer and odometer are non functioning, two complete instrument panels with all gauges are included in the sale.A set of four new tires have been recently installed. Typical of this vintage of International Travelall the driver's and passenger side doors are slightly out of alignment as a result of first responders exiting quickly. The retractable rear window is is sluggish and sometimes temperamental, although motor and mechanicals are easily accessible through the metal tailgate.
