Description of 1971 International Scout 800B Comanche |
Special Edition 1971 Scout 800B Comanche Have original LST to confirm This was not a frame off restoration but we definitely cleaned up, replaced, fixed as much as we could. Drives and handles extremely well. Steering and suspension is tight which all helps for a smooth and stress free drive with no bump steer. Automatic transmission, power steering and disc brakes up front make this classic rig completely drivable with all the modern upgrades already done for you. With some added interior upgrades, these help soften up the feel inside. Door panels, which would have been an original feature, custom rear vinyl panels, carpet on the floors & wood on the fenders are great additions to the scout. Has original rear seat with new upholstery. But used best top front seats. I will be ordering Seat cover for original 800 seats to be installed. All new auto meter gauges & some much needed lighting have been added as well to the interior. Dash & cab lightning turn on with door switches or you can turn on with switch in the dash. Suspension has not been changed much. But did install larger heavy duty shackles all around with new bilstein shocks. All new body bushing and new 1” DOM drag link with new steering shock stabilizer. New 31” tires on painted white rims. Paint & body works was done professionally and removed any existing rust with new sheet metal. 2K primer & sealer used as well as a single stage 2K urethane top coat paint. Scout was cut and buffed before Comanche decals were installed. Front clip completely removed and painted behind all panels. Almost everything in engine bay removed, cleaned up and painted. Additional gas shocked installed on hood are such a nice upgrade. Not having to deal with rod. Things that haven’t been addressed/rebuilt: Motor, Tranny & transfercase weren’t rebuilt. Axles are tight with no leaks but haven’t been rebuilt. AC unit was removed by previous owner. Front inner fenders were cut by PO to fit power steering & alternator. We moved alternator and patched hole. PO installed new wiring harness and we reworked it, installed fuse panel and cleaned everything up. Overall this rig is a great daily driver with an overall Great look. It will definitely turn heads everywhere you go.
