Opel Manta Rallye Solid California Girl with a fresh respray VIDEO

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at one very cool 1974 Opel Manta Rallye. This is a southern California, rust free, one owner-ish car. She was purchased new in Burbank CA in 1974 by a young lady for her commute to nearby Paramount and CBS studios. Once the warranty period ended, she entrusted the regular care to a local small shop. Not long ago, she passed and the car was acquired by the technician who had spent many years caring for the car. We acquired the car from this long term caretaker and gave her a mild update. He came by last week and loved our refresh.

Rarity

Comps are pretty hard to come by as there are never many Opels for sale, much less a real Manta Rallye in such excellent condition. GM brought the Opels to the US through Buick dealers. These hot little German cars alongside Roadmasters weren't the best mix. Sales were never fantastic in the US, and known for rust issues, few cars have survived. This California car escaped the tinworm and stayed dry in our arid climate.

Recently resprayed in glossy original Opel Rallye Gold. Excellent paint quality. Her tight lines really shine from every angle.
