This first production-year Pantera has it's original. professionally rebuilt Ford 351 Cleveland V8 engine with an estimated 380 HP. gobs of torque and makes beautiful noise!. We began a complete restoration of this car in 2003 when it came in after sitting idle for many years. We believe it was last driven in around 1990. We performed a lot of work until the owner ran into difficulties and the project was shelved in 2005. The car has been in indoor storage ever since without the project being revived and is now being offered for sale. basically rust free and partially restored. The car was completely disassembled. the body was chemically tank-stripped of all rust. paint. under-coating. etc to bare metal. It was mounted in a rotisserie. prepped and sprayed with epoxy primer. The right rear quarter-panel. both door skins. both B-pillar panels. both rocker panels and both front fenders were replaced. There is also a brand new front valence. There is more to do on the body but the most serious and exacting metal-work has been done. Suspension arms were media-blasted to bare metal and refinished with epoxy primer and catalyzed black urethane enamel. Engine was completely rebuilt with the following new parts: crank-bearings. thirty-over-pistons. ARP rod bolts. valves. valve-guides. hardened valve-seats. valve-springs. spring-retainers. valve-keepers. camshaft. lifters. push-rods. timing-chain and sprockets. fuel-pump eccentric. seals. gaskets oil-pump. water-pump. fuel-pump. idler bearing. Cylinders were bored . 030" (. 75mm) over-size. Block received new cam-bearings. 2 sleeves. freeze-plugs and gallery plugs. Crankshaft was ground . 010" (. 25mm). Cylinder-heads received 3-angle precision valve-job. Block. heads and crank were Magnaflux-tested OK. Heads and block were pressure-tested OK. ZF Transaxle was was opened up. inspected and determined to be in good condition. including spider gears. All gaskets and seals were replaced. Clutch was replaced and fly-wheel was resurfaced. Brake and clutch hydraulics need to be rebuilt. Wheels are non-original wider Ghotti brand.
