Description of 1951 Other Makes Frazer Manhatten |
Listing a 1951 Frazer Convertible for sale. Model 5162. paint 574-Ceramic Green. Trim 6261-Brown Leather/Vinyl. **131 made-super rare**This should be considered a project vehicle/easy restoration candidate. Vehicle is not drivable. Paint is nice driver quality with a few minor blems that could use touch up. Chrome is mostly nice older rechrome job . outer door garnish and rear bumper rechromed in 2008 and still wrapped up. door handles need to be re-chromed. one trunk hinge is broken. Interior has been redone at some point in vinyl. no leather. seats are nice. door panels show some shrinkage in the panels at lower corners. Door glass is in trunk as it was when we bought it. nbsp;window hydraulic lift cylinders for the doors are missing but available from several sources or conversion to electric window lifts could be done. Convertible top fabric is shot and one hinge in top frame is broken. Car ran and drove when we bought it and was fun to drive. engine was removed for rebuild but has not been done. Machine shop indicated there was a crack near a valve seat which is common in these engines -226 Continental. but should be repairable or a different block could be used. Transmission was fine -GM Hydramatic. steering was relatively light. brakes and exhaust where new fall of 2007 along with fuel tank clean and re-line. Wiring harness should be replaced-existing could probably be used if need be but replacement is available. NOS clock included with car. Firewall and inner fenders in engine bay where re-painted in late 2008 in anticipation of the engine getting re-installed. Life intervened at this point and the project stalled. Would be a fairly easy project to make a nice driver quality car for local shows. Title is signed off properly by previous owner still open -no purchaser filled in. True mileage is unknown but assumed to have rolled over once. Note: Pictures show car altogether as I purchased it in 2007. currently engine. transmission. grille. and rear bumper are not installed as other pictures show. I can bolt eng/trans assembly in car at no expense if necessary for ease of shipment. If you have questions send a message and I'll give you my phone number. Thanks. Bob |
