Description of 1950 Packard |
1950 packard 2 door sedanette. Straight 8 Flathead. 3 spd manual overdrive. This car has been sitting since 1967 in the farm country of Eastern Washington which is pretty dry so rust is not much of an issue. There is a small hole under the drivers feet and a little below the trunk lid and that is all I have seen. The body has some dents but nothing huge. There is a small munch at the bottom front of the right rear quarter panel where it meets the rocker panel. There is a piece of trim missing on the left front fender but it is the same as most other Packards so it should not be hard to find. There is also a piece missing on the right rear quarter panel. The trunk appears to be very solid as well as the trunk lid. The interior is complete and has had seat covers on the seats so they would be in good shape to use for patterns for a redoing them. The head liner will need to be replaced but it is still in place. The engine turns over using the key and start switch on the gas pedal. I am working on getting it running now. The previous owner said the engine was overhauled about 2000 miles before the car was parked and the car was parked because the owner had been given a newer car. Overall this car is a great project and a very rare car. it is very solid and 99% complete and you would be hard pressed to find something better to start with considering the age and the model. I also have keys and clean Idaho title. The pics say more than I can but feel free to let me know if there is something in particular you would like to see. Feel free to email call or text me at 2O8 sevev55 O4O7. I am in norther Idaho about 30 miles east of Spokane Washington. I can help arrange pickup and delivery. I would consider delivering the car for travel expenses if not to far away (most of the Pacific Northwest including Montana and southern Idaho). |
