Description of 1952 Packard Mayfair Hardtop. FRAME OFF RESTORATION. See VIDEO.

1952 Packard Mayfair Hardtop - Frame-Off Restoration with Upgrades. Introduced by Packard as "The most exciting new sports car of the decade," the 1952 Mayfair Hardtop was indeed a head-turner. This particular car (body number 4569) has lived for many years in Oregon. It recently received a comprehensive frame-off restoration, hich included: The body was removed from frame and media blasted from the underneath, hen sprayed with truck bed liner to protect from future rust. The frame stripped and then fully powder coated. All suspension bushing and tie rod ends were replaced. The car now tracks perfectly on the freeway and handles well on the curves. Rear springs were re-arced. The body, ncluding door jambs, owl, nside of hood and trunk were painted with correct color two-stage DuPont paint. Re-chroming was done as needed including the massive ox-yoke grille and bumpers. Interior trim re-chromed and polished including the door moldings and stainless headliner bows. All brakes and wheel seals were rebuilt including a new dual master cylinder. The engine was fully rebuilt and is both quiet and powerful, ith only 500 miles since the rebuild. Runs without fault. The Ultramatic transmission was replaced with a four-speed 700R4 GM automatic with locking torque converter which makes the car very spirited and economical. The electrical system was upgraded to 12 volt with a 12 volt starter. The lights are bright and it starts up immediately every time, ot or cold. The gas tank was professionally cleaned and sealed and the sending unit was rebuilt. The radiator was cleaned and rodded and the car never overheats, ven when idling in a parade. New shocks all the way around with air shocks in the rear that can be adjusted from inside the car. Rubber door seals and trunk seal along with rear spring grommets from Steele Rubber. The heater was recored and the heater valve was replaced. Fully reupholstered in Ivory and Black leatherette. Comfortable on long trips/tours. Glass is excellent throughout. Coker Classic whitewall radial tires installed on new, eriod-style wire wheels. Fender skirts were restored and repainted. (Currently not on the car as the owner prefers the open rear fenders with the wire wheels. Skirts will be included with purchase of the car.) On the road, his Packard handles and performs like a car half its age. The rebuilt engine and transmission conversion give this car great "get up and go" in traffic and on the highway. It runs cool in all weather and is a real pleasure to drive. A wonderful car for long-distance touring. Stops smooth and straight. All of the options work with exception of the radio, hich has not been converted to 12 volt. Since restoration, his car has been lightly driven, ostly to shows where it has garnered numerous trophies for "Best in Class." If you are looking for a Packard that offers the best of both worlds: show and go - this is fine one. A reasonable reserve has been placed on this car, ar less than the cost of acquisition and restoration. Please bid accordingly. The only reason for selling is to make room in the garage. Somone is going to get a bargain. WE WILL HAPPILY SELL TO BIDDERS WORLDWIDE. Thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK! If the video link below is inactive, lease go to: https://youtu.be/Kg6ELRSfKaE
