Description of 1951 Packard 200 |
I am selling my 1951 Packard 200 four door Standard trim sedan from my personal collection as I continue to downsize. This car is in great condition and is an actual low mileage survivor with only approximately 42,600 miles, lthough I continue to drive the car occasionally and the exact mileage may be slightly higher. The title reflects this as well. The interior is all original and is very well preserved for it's age showing some light wear and some marks from use. The interior is free from rodent damage or mold and does not smell odd as the car has been stored indoors. There are not any masking deodorizers. The former owner had the exterior of this car professionally repainted. The paint shows beautifully with a deep shine. Although not perfect, here are some very small defects that can only been seen when up very close to the paint to study it. The mirror like shine is evident from the pictures that I am posting. The chrome is great, owever, he upper corners on the rear bumper show some thin spots from polishing. Additionally, here is a spot of chrome damage on the underside of the passenger side front bumper. There is also some dimples in the chrome grill surround near the top. It is not missing chrome or pitted, t simply has chrome over some dimples in the casting. The car has the 288 C.I. in line eight cylinder Packard engine with the Ultramatic automatic transmission. The engine runs smooth and powerful, specially on the highway. The transmission shift is smooth as can be seen in the video links. While the driving video may be shaking, t is only because the camera was sitting on the back of the seat when driving and it makes it look shaky. The ride is very smooth. The car is very clean and the trunk still has some of the original flocking in it. The points were removed and were replaced by the Pertronix ignition unit and seat belts were added for safer modern driving. The car currently wears WWW Coker radial tires All of the gauges work properly except the gas gauge which seems to stick at slightly over the 1/2 way mark when the car is filled up. The radio lights up but it doesn't make any sound. The seats and door panels are original and are in good shape. As you can see in the photographs, he underside of the car is in fantastic shape, This car is very clean, un to drive and is turn key! This is not a restored car, r a used up car, t is a very nice example of a car as built. I have posted some videos of the car running and driving as well as a video of the interior and have tried to take good quality photo's for your review. I am a private collector and I am not a dealer. My feedback reflects the kind of seller that I am. While I like the car a lot and really enjoy driving it, ny prospective buyer may not feel the same. I encourage any bidders to schedule an inspection prior to bidding.THE CAR IS BEING SOLD AS-IS, HERE IS. If you need more pictures or to speak about the car, lease call 267-374-1001. It is up to you to determine the condition of the car and you must rely on your own assessment of the vehicle before you choose to bid. If you have a feedback score of 5 or less, lease contact me before bidding or we will be forced to cancel your bid. The winning bidder has up to three weeks to remove the car from the premises from the date that the title is transferred (upon clearance of funds at my bank). The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the listing at any time. Be sure to check out my Youtube videos below to make sure you see that this is one great original car.
