Description of 1939 Packard

FOR SALE - one of a kind opportunity

1939 Henney-Packard Model 893 Funeral Car, INGLE OWNER. Dickins Funeral Home originally purchased this vehicle new in 1938 as a custom hearse and ambulance, hich was rare for its time. All of the original paperwork and documentation is available. The vehicle was in use by the family-owned funeral home through 3 generations as their trademark of luxury and respect for their clients. It is shown in the attached photo being the car in the middle, arked in front of the historic business in Mississippi.

This is a GREAT opportunity to restore a historic vehicle with a wonderful family story. Over the years the vehicle has been garage-stored, lthough not mechanically maintained. The body has very little rust, nd while the engine is intact, t does not run. This is an excellent opportunity to own a gorgeous example of automotive history with exceptional provenance.

The car has been in Batesville Mississippi its entire life and the body and undercarriageare in very good condition with very little rust. All the factory glass is still in place. The car was sent to Memphis TN approximately 7 years ago for a restoration. The restoration shop removed the fenders, ngine, ood, unning boards, xterior chrome, nterior items including door panels and other misc items in preparation for paint.Health issues caused the owner to stop restoration at this time and the car was sent back to Mississippi where it hasbeen stored next to the still existing funeral home. I was commissioned to reset the engine in the chassis, nd bolt as many items back on to the car as possible. It appears that almost all original items are still with the car. I have included a picture of the original data plate but as of this time it is missing. ( the owner is still looking for the data plate and if and when found will be forwarded to the new owner) My name is Mike and I am selling this car for the owner. I can be reached at 662-816-8280 for any additional information. This car is being sold with the original Bill of Sale and a new Bill of Sale to the new owner. There is NO TITLEas Mississippi did not require vehicle titlesbefore 1969. A deposit of $250.00 is require within 48 hours of auction end time via Paypal with the remaining balance due in cash when car is picked up unless other arrangements are made with the owner prior to delivery such as Bank Wire Transfer. The car is being sold as-is with no warranty. Thanks.

After many questions concerning this car I am adding the following information:Any and All paperwork associated with the car is included with the purchase. This car does not run and requires restoration. As far as we know there is no VIN tag or number anywhereon this car. We understand VIN tags were not on Packards of this vintage. The data plate that is screwed onto the firewall is missing.A vehicle number was stamped onto the missing data plate.
