I purchased this Peugeot 604 STI in June of 2010 with 62,000 miles in the dry area of Southeast France. I then drove it 600 miles straight to Le Mans in order to attend the Le Mans Classic event. The car drove without any issues what-so-ever in fantastic comfort with the factory AC keeping me cool during that year unusual summer heat wave. See the picture on the French highway going 90 MPH and visiting a castle in the Loire valley !
The rare STI version is powered by the well known 2.7 V6 PRV engine paired with the proven Bosch injection system. The STI was sold with all the available options (4 electric windows, entral locking, /C, lectric sunroof, etallic paint, eather, ruise control, tc.). I bought the car from the widow of the retired second owner, ho had been using it for Sunday drives only.
I legally imported the car in September of 2010 along with a gorgeous 604 Turbo Diesel (see pic) under the 25 year old NHTSA exemption rule. This car is absolutely legal in the US and is sold with a valid Florida title. I sold the Diesel & drove the STI almost daily in the winter of 2010 /11, hen a lot less the following years. While not in use the car was always garaged.
When I purchased the car it had all original paint but quite a few scratches and small dents on just about every panel. That really bothered me for some time, o I decided to have the car professionally re-sprayed last year in its original color. Please note that I did not permanently reinstalled the trunk lid scripts (the "604"& "STI"are new) and just temporarily taped them for the photos in this listing.
The car was and is rust-free including the always sensitive areas such as the inside bottom of the trunk, indshield surround, ront & rear wheel wells, tc..
Since I purchased the car over 5 years ago, he fuel accumulator has always had a buzzing sound. So I recently went through the entire fuel supply system and changed the in-tank lift pump, ain fuel pump, ilter and accumulator. The buzzing is still here, lthough it does not affect performances at all.
In addition, ecent work includes new oil / filter, ir filter, s well as new distributor cap, oil wires and spark plugs. At the same time, he injection system was checked. If you live in colder climates, ou might want to look into the warm-up regulator. There is an outfit in TX who can take care of it for $300. Because I am in Florida, never found it necessary to do it. I just wait a minute or so for the engine to warm-up. The motor starts on first crank regardless (see video of cold start below).

Once the motor is warmed up, he car drives very smooth, ccelerates swiftly, tops straight and shifts like butter (see video merging on the highway).

The video below shows various details including all the interior lights working (including the "purse"light), ut also the few faults such as a chip in the windshield and the passenger door weather strip.
Everything on the car works properly (even the clock) except the cruise control. The rear right window is a little slow. Also, here is a small rip in the driver's seat cushion.
The air conditioning was retrofitted to 134 gas prior to my ownership and blows cold. Please note that the car retains its French yellow headlight. I will leave the original French plates on the car for more authenticity. The 2 brackets you see in the pics by the rear license plate are there to hold a US plate and can be easily removed.

I will offer the buyer a choice of wheels and tires. The car currently has good TRX tires on correct Amil alloy wheels; I can offer to swap the TRX for the 14"alloys rims shown in the picture of the dark color 604. If you plan on driving the car on a regular basis, hen I recommend the 14", or a super smooth ride. If not, hen the TRX are fine for once in-a-while drives but not as quiet.

 This car is ready to go in exceptional comfort and smoothness. The seats are extremely comfortable and everybody who rides in a 604 is amazed with the compromise of road handling & comfort level.
Although, his low mileage car presents exceptionally well, t is still a 32 year old car, o please do not expect a new car.
