Up for sale is a totally sorted 1950 Chevy Pickup ready to drive and enjoy. This truck has been in the same family for many years and was purchased years ago because of the very clean. rust-free and all original body. Underneath the truck was recently updated with only the best parts including a complete new Art Morrison chassis and air ride suspension professionally fitted by Hollywood Hot Rods in Burbank. CA. HHR started by removing the original chassis and fitting a new Art Morrison tubular chassis using Mustang II style front suspension with dropped spindles and disc brakes. power steering rack. four-bar rear suspension with a new Currie Ford 9-inch rearend (31-spline axles. 3. 55 gears with posi-trac). aluminum driveshaft and air bags with fully adjustable ride height on both ends. Plenty of stopping power with 14-inch drilled and slotted Wilwood disc brakes on all four corners! The air ride is controlled by an Accuair E-level controller with self leveling and multiple presets that allow you to change the ride height with the touch of one button. dual compressors and a 15 gallon aluminum air tank ensure plenty of air at all times. The truck was designed to lay flat on the pavement and it does perfectly. Power comes from a new crate Chevy H. O. Vortec 350 with a mild street cam producing a healthy 330 h. p. with 428 lbs. of torque! The fresh small-block engine is backed by an equally fresh 700R-4 Automatic Overdrive transmission by Sand and Street Toys. Exhaust is handled by Hooker headers routed to a pair of Magnaflow mufflers. Right now the whole chassis and drivetrain has a proven trouble-free 2K miles on it. To further enhance the visual look of the truck laying flat on the pavement subtle custom modifications were made to the bodywork so all the pieces worked together with the pavement hugging stance. The first thing to get modified was the raising of the running boards to get the truck down just slightly lower than any other similar pickup. this also allowed the front fenders and bumper to get down just a bit lower and enhance the visual. In the back it gets even more involved with the bed raised to make a better transition from cab to bed. Then the rear fenders were slightly lowered to get back in line with the front fenders. The lower portions of the rear fenders were extended downward so all the panels from front to back hug the ground equally. When it was all done a new wood raised bed floor with chrome strips finishes it off with a still useable bed. These mods are very subtle. but at the same time make this truck very special and unique. Inside a new Vintage Air system is ready to cool and heat the interior. installation is complete. just needs the compressor hooked up. At the same time a new wiring harness from Painless and power windows were installed. Dual Optima batteries make sure there is no lack of power. A set of custom made 18x8 and 18x9 steelies with chrome center caps from Mob Steele mount Falken 459 low-profile tires (245/50/18 up front and 275/50/18 in the rear). After a year of trouble free daily driving the owner is moving to an area not as cruising friendly as Southern California and is offering the truck up at a fraction of the cost of making this custom one-of-a-kind pickup.
