Description of 1971 Plymouth Duster

CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741. Up for sale and your consideration is a really nice 1971 Plymouth Duster Hot Rod Muscle Car. This car is FAST ! It was originally a 340 & 4-Speed car. The original motor gave up after many years or reliable service. It was replaced with a Chrysler Mopar 360 magnum crate motor that was set up to run and run great it most certainly does ! This is a turn key hot rod muscle car that can be enjoyed immediately on the day of purchase. Please take the time to look over all 24 photos that I have listed here on the auction. i have many more photos available. Just call and ask for them. I also welcome and encourage the opportunity to show this car in person by appointment to any prospective buyer to answer any questions that they may have as to the solid integrity and condition of this car. BODY:This Duster is straight. clean and rust free. Body is very solid and doors shut nicely. Paint is clean and bright white. Pinstriping and 360 logo around the rear compliment the car. A rear wing tops the trunk. Glass is all tinted. The vinyl top is also in very nice shape. The steel hood has a big block style ram air scoop. The hood is held down with hood pins. Front grille is in excellent condition. Both front and rear bumpers are new chrome replated pieces. They look fantastic. Wheels are 15" Cragers in excellent condition and tires are BF Goodrich Radial T/A's. They have good tread on them. Not new. but good tread. Lights work. turn signals work. and back up lights work. Undercarriage is very solid including floors and trunk. Be sure to look at undercarriage photos. Trunk is clean and simple. Underside of trunk is in excellent shape as well. INTERIOR:Interior is black vinyl. Front seats are buckets. Dash retains original gauges. Added engine monitoring gauges were installed. A tachometer was installed into the center gauge console on dash. An aftermarket CD stereo was installed. as well as better stereo speakers. 2 in the rear shelf area behind the rear seat. 2 up front in a simple speaker enclosure ahead of the floor shifter. A vacuum gauge is also housed in the speaker enclosure to monitor engine vacuum. The front seats are in good shape. Rear seats have a couple cracks along stitching of seating seam areas. one crack on the passenger side. 2 cracks on the drivers side of seat bottom area only. Black carpet is clean and in great shape. Headliner is carpeted black and is clean as well and in good shape. Gas gauge works. interior lights work. reverse light interior light works. turn signal indicators work. wipers work. Heat is not currently hooked up. I have a brand new heater core in the box to include with the car if the buyer wants heat hooked up. Car is again a hot rod. and really not driven at all in the cold weather so it has not been any issue. The factory indicator gauges are not hooked up. volts. temperature etc. The engine monitoring gauges under the dash handle all of these functions. ENGINE:A Mopar 360 Magnum Crate engine was installed. It has a high lift cam installed as well. Engine has an Accel Super coil. high performance distributor and high performance plug wires. Heavy duty marine grade battery and heavy duty battery cables. A high rise single plane intake manifold is topped with a late model Holly dual feed 750 Double Pumper carb. The carb air intake and heat plate is simple. effective and very functional. It seals up against the foam seal on hood and draws in fresh cool air to maximize performance. 4-Speed Transmission is correct four speed transmission and rear end is a 3:23 Positraction unit. Exhaust is handled by headers through custom bent dual exhaust with equalizing crossover pipe back through glasspack muffler and dual straight pipes out the back with square "pypes" tips. The exhaust sounds fantastic. Water pump was recently replaced with a heavy duty unit and radiator was flushed. thermostat replaced and fresh coolant installed. Engine oil and filter have just been changed with fresh 20W-50 motor oil and oil filter. SUMMARY:My summary of this car is based on a complete and thorough inspection of the car as well as servicing and detailing of the car. My summary is also based on thorough conversation with the previous owner. I have accurately and honestly described this car to the best of my ability.
