Description of 1932 Plymouth Other |
America was on hard times in 1932 as the country waited out the effects of the Great Depression. There were still many luxury car builders, ut the coming years would claim many of them. Of course, he medium and lower priced cars still had a tough time in the show room, ut there were still a few sedans and coupes that managed to find new buyers. In particular, lymouth had a firm grasp on the lower end of the market with cars that were reliable and priced just right. Indeed Plymouth's two-door sedan sold for just $575, ut for just $20 more a prospective buyer could move up to the Sport Roadster with a fabulous rumble seat. Excellent styling, ust the right amount of chrome, nd reliable Plymouth power all came together in the 1932 PB Roadster. The PB Roadster offered here is a charming artifact from Plymouth's past that's finished in a lovely tan with contrasting maroon fenders and wire wheels with wide white wall tires. It also features a raised cowl and a low profile windshield. The interior is finished in rich red leather that offers comfort while enjoying the open air motoring experience. Plymouth's PB cars were loaded with engineering innovations that were way ahead of their time with "Floating Power" engine mounts that greatly reduced vibration, ull-pressure lubrication, luminum alloy pistons, nd Freewheeling for highway cruising. Shifting was also easy thanks to synchromesh gears in both second and third. The heart of this charming roadster in the tried and proven 196 cubic-inch inline four rated at 65 horsepower. Plymouth advertised their PB as having "the smoothness of an eight, ith the economy of a four." The roadster will always have a place on the automotive landscape and this Plymouth PB is a car that's unusual while offering excellent reliability. This is a great looking roadster of the early 1930's and this particular example wears a nice restoration and is ready for any show or touring event.
