As a diehard car enthusiast, ou know right away when you're in the 'right' car. First off, t's got to be cool. This Hemi-powered Plymouth GTX certainly fits that criterion. Next, ou have to be able to sit in the car, ove it 10 feet and already know it's clean, ell-maintained and authentic. One look under this Bright Blue beast confirms that. And finally, ou have to enjoy driving the car as much as you enjoy looking at it.... See what we mean?

BODYWORK/TRIM

Much more impressive than when it left Lynch Road's storied assembly lines, his well-done Plymouth has been transformed into a take-no-prisoners showboat that consistently headlines cruise nights. You won't be staying under the radar with the car's correct Bright Blue Metallic paintwork, hich has been professionally applied over a very clean body. There are no obvious signs of wholesale panel replacement, acking up the previous owner's claim of only a partial restoration. Not surprisingly, it and finish is almost good enough to turn reflections into reality. And those reflections gain a sinister slant when stretched between stylish racing stripes and a hard edged MoPar profile.

ENGINE

Under the car's classy hood ornament and small, tainless-trimmed scoops, brutal, 26 cubic inch Hemi is authenticated by a famous 2468330 casting number. As Plymouth's top option for power hungry gearheads, hrysler's legendary elephant block utilized cast iron heads, n oversquare bore, forged steel crank, orged steel rods, orged aluminum pistons and a hydraulic cam to twist stout 10.25 to 1 compression into a stated 425 horsepower and 490 lb./ft. of torque. All that high performance hardware spins in a familiar Hemi Orange block, hich hangs textured valve covers over correct, ow-restriction exhaust manifolds. Oxygen is supplied by a polished and decaled air cleaner, hich rides correct Carter carburetors. Compression is sparked by Chrysler Electronic Suppression cables, hich are snapped onto a correct points distributor. And a correct Chrysler radiator utilizes pliable hoses and old school squeeze clamps to cool combustion. Visually, he body-matched engine bay is clean and fairly accurate. Thanks to impeccable upkeep, he big mill cruises just as well as when it rolled off the assembly line. And naturally, roster of correct ancillaries includes items like factory decals, reproduction MoPar battery, n old school washer reservoir and a monochromatic brake booster.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

According to the car's previous owner, his cool B-Body has been so well maintained that it only needed a partial restoration. The result is a factory-accurate undercarriage that appears just as Ma MoPar intended. Solid floors are protected by stereotypically thick undercoating. Behind the stalwart engine, correct A727 3-speed twists power to a familiar Dana 60 axle. That drivetrain rides a firm Hemi Suspension, hich mixes factory power steering with power front disc and rear drum brakes. The car's large-diameter exhaust system centers an H-shaped crossover in front of Flowmaster dual-chamber mufflers and polished stainless tips. And torque tills the ground through chrome Magnum 500s, hich spin meaty 225/70R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/As around classy center caps.

INTERIOR

According to the Psychology of Color, sense of considerable power is gained through displayed contrast. That being said, t should come as no surprise that this Plymouth's brilliant paint borders a correct interior that's dressed in miles of monochromatic Black. Front and center, n attractive, tainless-trimmed dash hangs old school telemetry above factory AM/FM audio. In front of that dash, rnate thrones center a factory speaker behind a correct center front seat. At the sides of the car, liable door panels found correct frames in front of correct armrests. Those panels are sandwiched between a tight headliner and clean carpet, hich is protected by red-tinged GTX floor mats. In front of the driver, satin-spoke steering wheel frames a Mayflower column topper. And behind the passengers, fully restored trunk swallows a large amount of cargo.
