Description of 1971 Plymouth Barracuda |
1971 Plymouth Cuda 340 I hate to see it go, but it is ready for a new home. This 1971 beauty started its life as a 1971 Barracuda 318 slap stick auto, but has new life as a 340. It is virtually impossible to tell from an original 71 Cuda other than the VIN number. It is a frequent driver with an array of options that make it a pleasure to drive. It is an original California car with much of its detailed restoration done there in early 2000’s. The car has about 5800 miles since its complete restoration. Highlights: Rebuilt 70/71 340 motor to factory specs, electronic ignition 727 Slip stick Automatic transmission 3 speed 3.23 8 ¾ positraction 489 rear end Power front disc brakes, rear drum brakes Factory Air conditioning, needs work currently does not cool well TTI dual exhaust, sounds great Front and rear sway bars Original undercoat option car, reapplied at restoration Beautiful 2 tone brown interior Power windows AM/FM radio, cassette console for appearance only Rallye dash, gauges restored by Redline Gauges Color coded sport mirrors, front rear painted rubber bumpers Painted grill and valance insert (original) Road lamps with correct “FOG” lamps Matte black 340 Bill boards 5 speaker system with fader 6 way adjustable seat Autumn Bronze Metallic Paint – original color, repainted only once 2008 While not perfect, it is a show stopper and always does well at car shows. It is a beauty to look at and a pleasure to drive. I will try and describe it as accurate as possible to give you good impression of the car. Like anything of this age there are a few small issues. While a beautiful job, the paint is not perfect with some small bubble on the deck lid, behind rear wheels, and some paint chips from normal driving. The A/C does not cool well, but has all the parts present. Ignition lock cylinder loose. Tachometer not functional, and the sweep clock works off and on. Clean title. I also have the original build sheet, fender tagand an entire file folder of receipts and photos during the restoration. This is your chance to get a great Cuda at a reasonable price, don't let this one pass you up.Pick up or shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. The car is sold as-is with no warranties expressed or implied, Please contact me for any questions. I reserve the right to end auction if sold locally. |
