Description of 1959 Plymouth Fury |
This is a beautiful 1959 Plymouth Sport Fury with all of it's original equipment. All component numbers match. It is an older extensive restoration. Since I have had it I have had a Dave Crooks perfectoriginal steering wheel cast ($1400) and have had a new dash and steering horn center pad installed with new foam backing ($1100). The clear in the original steering wheel always cracks and discolors over the years and the foam padding behind the dash pad and horn ring pad disintegrates in time. The car runs and drives well. The interior is excellent. The mileage shows 15,000 but I suspect that the odometermay haveturned over. The paint is in very good condition with NO rust showing anywhere. The 395 Golden Commando V-8 was the largest engine offered for the Sport Fury that year. Email with your questions. On Aug-15-16 at 09:59:30 PDT, seller added the following information: It has a Torqueflite 3 speed automatic transmission. I believe that the engine is a 360, not a 395 as noted on the air cleaner. I am unsure what the 395 denotes as that decal was on the air cleaner cover when I got the car. On Aug-15-16 at 10:56:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Also included is a new custom fit California Car Cover that is currently on the car. On Aug-15-16 at 19:22:05 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been informed that the 395 stands for the torque rating for the 361 cubic inch engine. And, it is 361 cubic inches not 360 which I mistakenly listed above. |
