Description of 1964 Plymouth Other Belvedere

On the scheduled production date of Nov 15, 1963, this extremely rare 1964
Belvedere Two Door Sedan was built for a fella in CA who ordered it from
VIP Chrysler Plymouth in Salinas, CA. Not a Fury, not a Belvedere Hardtop, but
Grandma's Belvedere post sedan ...with the 426 Street Wedge/4speed package...probably more rare than a Belvedere or Savoy Max Wedge.
In fact, when this car was documented by Galen Govier in 2003, there were only three (3) such cars in The Chrysler Registry. This may be the only one with a 4 speed...
This car was meticulously rotisserie restored over 5 years, with extreme attention to all details, bringing it back to that day in Nov, 1963 when it rolled out of the Lynch Road Plymouth assembly plant in Detroit, MI and then spent over 40 years in central and southern CA...for that reason it has an exceptional original unibody and floor, also very rare for old Mopars, as we all surely know.
Most major components on this car are original.
The block and heads are date/casting/stamping correct...easily represented as also being original but this cannot be confirmed.
The street wedge package included the front sway bar (quite rare on Belvederes and Savoys), HD 11" Brakes, Super Stock Leaf Springs, HD propellor shaft, very hard to find 5.5" wheels, 7.50 X 14 Tires, 7 blade viscous fan, 3.23: 1 sure grip posi rear, and of course the 426/365hp Street Wedge, with its beautiful chrome air cleaner and valve covers. The engine was of course rebuilt to factory specs and has hardened valve seats so it runs fine on today's junk pump gas.
All other components on the car such as voltage regulator, starter, intake manifold,
carburetor, alternator, etc, are date and number correct NOS or restored used parts.
The only non-correct components are the fuel tank and sending unit, which are
outstanding reproductions. The original numbered sending unit works fine and can certainly be included with the car. Other spare parts not used in the restoration
may also be included, for those who are interested.
The paint is base coat/clear coat urethane over epoxy and urethane primers, in its original "Dark Turqoise", a very pretty and desirable color for early 60's Mopars.
The interior is "Turqoise". The underside of the car is gray urethane primer, with oversprayed undercoating applied exactly as it was done in 1964. Some of the front end components (eg, struts, control arms, K-frame) were carefully painted in their dark gray original color, which was done on some or perhaps many west coast bound Plymouths in '63-'64.
By now you know this special Mopar is for the very serious enthusiast.
If you are in to heavy research, authentic restoration, numbers, dates, details, and extremely low production, this is the car for you....and by all means you can drive this one too. She gets her exercise and maintenance, as every collector car should. Though not originally ordered, correct dated seat belts and driver's side view mirror are added safety features.
For some reason the eBay listing would not allow me to enter the mileage.
The odometer reading is 34,060, cannot confirm at all that this is actual
mileage to date.
FYI: One issue needing attention: both push button door locks are not working. I did something odd when installing the door panels. They worked fine for about a year or so, and then strangely both began to not "descend" all the way down (locked). Have not fooled with this as I hate to go back on fully finished work.
