This 1954 Plymouth is all ready to drive and enjoy now. The few minor details, such as left door needs to be re-aligned (shuts fine), left rocker panel needs replacing (about $50), speedometer not working, likely a cable for which universal speedometer cables are $10 - $20, other minor rust areas, and of course, could use a paint job. It is a fun cruiser right now, has quiet exhaust intact, we installed a rebuilt carburetor, (needs hand choke installed), has good battery; the clutch is good, we have highway driven it at 55 mph and it rides and drives good at this highway speed. We did install a new inline fuel filter for preventive maintenance. All glass is good, the previous owner was using it as a daily driver around town. Brakes operate good. Personally, I would not drive it over 55 mph as most of the early 50's cars were low geared rear-ends. All the lights work, even the backup lights and license plate lights. Turn signals work. Ready to enjoy this summer, and do the light tinker time work in the winter. Speedometer reads 57,900 but it is not working currently, but the interior does not look worn enough to have much more mileage on it than that. The drivers floor has been repaired with metal, not an original cut panel, where the driver's feet sit, so you might want to redo that. Car is currently advertised locally as well, reserving the right to sell it locally too. I am starting the bidding at a very low $2500, with the above minor repairs I have mentioned above done, it will be worth about $7500.00. If you have any questions, call me at 815-420-5068. Ask for Lance. My message machine is always on. No text capability. I am helping my son sell it for a friend of his at work because they do not have ebay accounts. It has a GOOD TITLE. Car is located in rural Rockford, IL., 61101. It will drive on a trailer with ease. If you need a month or two before picking it up, that's fine. Lance, 815-420-5068.
