Description of 1971 Plymouth Barracuda Cuda |
1971 Plymouth Cuda 340 Automatic FE5 Rallye Red - YouTube Video will open in a new window For sale is my 1971 Plymouth Cuda, BS23H1B413042. This car is a true 71 Cuda which came from the factory with a 340, 727 automatic transmission. I have decoded the fender tag (still attached) below. Please watch the video above for a walk-around video.
This car is from my personal collection. It has been a joy to own and drive. It starts every time, stops and steers as it should and has no issues. It shows well and gets thumbs ups wherever it goes. This is an overall very "honest" car that has had one repaint to my knowledge. At some point the top and interior were changed to black and the billboards and spoilers were added. The tires have less than 500 miles on them. The paint and body show well. There are a few imperfections which could easily be touched up and the finish be considered an 8/10. There are minor stone chips and scratches from being driven, again, these could easily be touched up. The chrome and stainless shines very well. The door gaps are very nice and everything lines up as it should. The bottom is undercoated and in good shape. I would rate the underside as driver quality. There is some light surface rust in the trunk from where water sat under the trunk mat. There is a large scratch under the deck lid as pictured. I have a brand new 71 Cuda deck lid that I will include with the sale of the car. I was going to have this lid painted and swap them but it never bothered me enough to have it done. There is a small chip in the front of the grille as pictured. All of the lights and gauges work as they should. There is a crack in the windshield. The VIN stamps on the cowl and radiator support do match. The engine is not original to the car. An Edelbrock intake and new Holley carburetor were installed a prior to me buying this car. Power steering makes this car a pleasure to drive. The front end was rebuilt as well as many other components (I have a folder of receipts). The interior is very sound with no rips, tears or other major imperfections. This car was featured in the book, "Original Challenger and Barracuda 1970-1974 The Restorer's Guide" as well as the dash plaque for a Monster Mopar show. This car is a very nice above average driver quality example of a 71 Cuda. This is a very rare example of a 71 Cuda that can be driven and enjoyed. With a small amount of work this car can be taken to the next level is so desired. You are welcome to come inspect the car in person. Serious buyers only. No trades. 330-592-3644.
