Description of 1973 Plymouth Road Runner |
WHAT A PERFECT PROJECT CAR FOR THE MOPAR GUY WHO JUST WANTS A NICE LOOKING MOPAR TO DRIVE AND CRUISE AND HIT THE LOCAL SHOWS WITHOUT HAVING TO BREAK THE BANK! GET IT NOW WHILE YOU CAN AND BUILD YOUR OWN DRIVETRAIN! I have a 1973 Plymouth Road Runner for sale. Yes... it is a REAL Road Runner and is an original FY1 Lemon Twist color!! It currently does not have the motor or transmission installed. It is however, a very clean straight car, solid frame rails, decent driver quality paint, new stripes and a real nice interior. I just had a new windshield installed along with new carpet, dash cap, side marker lens and new headlights and had a buffer shine up the paint. A previous owner decades ago had the K-Member converted to fit a Big Block Engine (440). It has a clear Florida title, but is currently in Indiana. THIS WAS A WEEKEND CRUISER OR DAILY DRIVER it has never been restored, just taking care of. Make no mistake it has had re-paints and older body work and has usual wear and tear in places. Some small elbow dings on the hood and tops of fenders and some scratches. But never a nut and bolt resto. The only metal work I see is 2 small patches on the RH trunk pan, a patch on RH front floor pan only and a couple of repairs made on the RH quarter panel upon inspection. I did not drop a engine in yet because I was unsure if I wanted to go back BB or return it to a small block car. I do however have a very good (running when pulled) 1974 360 complete and a 904 (driveshaft I have fits 904) or SB727 tranny to pick from or a 1973 400 Big Block (short block with 452 heads) that needs a total rebuild and a BB 727 (condition unknown). THAT CAN BE NEGOTIATED WITH THE PRICE. Is a power steering car, manual Front Disc Brakes, power steering pumps still has BB Mopar brackets installed, Non AC car. Decent radio holes on the dash.cluster. But as I have seen many times someone in the 1980's cut the dash plate and installed a Kraco Cassette (long gone). So basically what the car needs the brakes to be gone thru (been sitting long time Master cylinder is shot), driveline (8 3/4 rear axle is still there) installed, and all of the electrical items to be inspected ( wiring appears all there) Heater core is missing and various things to get it running. But the hard part of finding and having a 73 REAL Road Runner without all of the extremely expensive hard to find sheet metal (they don't make any body panels for these cars for the most part)and trim is already there. Questions ... just email the me! THIS NOT A CLASS ONE SHOW CAR. IT HAS NOT BEEN RESTORED. No motor or transmission is currently installed. Just in case you missed it. |
