Description of 1971 Plymouth Road Runner Clone

Hello. You are looking at a 1971 Plymouth Satellite Roadrunner Clone. This car started out as a 71 Plymouth Satellite Sebring 383 Auto. My son and I restored this car from the frame up as our home school auto class. I have been a body man and a mechanic most of my life. The only thing we did not personally do to this car was the machine work on the engine. the rebuild on the tranny. and the exhaust. This car has been torn down to nothing and fully repainted etc. as you can see in the one pic of it on little wheels. The motor is a 3-1-71 date coded 440 motor. It has the steel crank that has been cut. Motor has been bored . 040 over by Quality Engine. It has rebuilt 906 heads. new cam and lifters. oil pump. etc. The 727 tranny was rebuilt by TNT Transmissions along with a rebuilt torque converter. The rear end is an 8 3/4" 3:23 NON-posi. but a posi traction rear end would complete the setup. Rear end is out of a 72 Satellite Sebring Plus that had a factory 400 4BBL in it. and apparently my stock 440 is much more powerful than the 400. because you floor it and it will smoke the tire for as long as you wish! You would def. win the burnout competition without Hilex:) Car deserves a posi. That being said 0-60 easy! Runs and shifts great! It has headers with 2 1/2" exhaust. and Thrush mufflers installed by Muffler Man; they did a good job. As far as the body goes. it had front and rear driver's side floor pans. rear quarters. and lower trunk extensions replaced. It was painted in pieces. including the underneath of the car. It has had new brake shoes. brake lines. fuel lines. fuel tank. shocks. 3 row aluminum radiator. and an Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake with a Holley dual feed 750 carb with the kick down hooked up and working. Also has a working Roadrunner. Beep Beep horn. The car only has power steering. no power brakes. The headliner is new. it has some wrinkles in it. but it is new. Visors are good. dash is good. door panels are decent. new carpet and sill plates. new windshield. has the shoulder belts that hook to the lap belt separately. Side windows are stiff to roll up and down due to new weather stripping all around. Car also has a vintage Pioneer stereo cassette underdash system. Pioneer tweeters and 6x9" Pioneer speakers in the back. There have been a lot of other new parts as well. but you get the drift. I took this car. last year. to 4 car shows and. I am not bragging. but it won 2 trophies out of the 4 shows and was chosen both of those times to also be featured in the local papers. I am trying to be as accurate on the representation of this car as possible. People never even asked if this was a clone at the shows I went to. all I got was very positive feedback. I did the best I could with the camera we have. and the pics turned out pretty good and represent the car well. Now this car does have some issues that I have not fixed. and I have not fixed them because I never thought the car was going to be a car you would put in a room and never drive. also none of the issues ever affected what I was going to use it for. The windshield wipers work sometimes and other times not. I believe that one of the arms is starting to slip or may need a new wiper motor. I never planned on driving it in the rain. however. so did not worry about that. The turn signal works. but the canceler should be replaced because it does not automatically turn off after you turn a corner. you have to turn it off manually by lifting it up. Only one of the signals is like that though. the other side works correctly. Also. the shift indicator pin is missing. but I just keep track of what gear I am in and it doesn't bother anything. The speedometer is 5-10 MPH off due to 15" tires in the back. The interior light is not hooked up. The biggest thing that the car would need if you wanted is the seats covered. The front seat is a high back split bench bucket seat. with a buddy seat. We just have aftermarket slip over covers on the seats. they don't look bad as they are. but just so you know the seats are NOT professionally covered. The seats under the covers are a cream colored seat. wish they were covered as it would complete the car. The hood hinge on the driver's side seems to be sticky a little. so you have to close it a certain way when closing the hood. If you want to know that whole story on it you will have to call. easy to explain hard to type. Doesn't cause any problems. I have put about 1. 00+ miles on this car and have no issues. runs. drives. and shifts great. It is performance yellow with the roof strobe stripe. a go wing. and chin spoiler. it def. sticks out in a crowd of cars and captures a lot of attention. The first pic was professionally taken last spring for my son's graduation by Dan Andree Photography. The car has been painted for about 3-4 years now and still looks pretty much the same. If you have a feedback of 0-50 I would like you to email me your phone # so I can call you before you bid. also if you have any questions feel free to email me your # and I will gladly call you. I like people to know what they are getting so it is very nice if you ask any questions before bidding/buying because I may have forgotten something that you may think of. So PLEASE feel free to ask any questions. Car is sold as is. If down payment is made. car can be stored here in a clean. dry shed for a certain amount of time until you can pick it up. Car is being sold. in part. because I have another son who is in 9th grade this year and we now have a 73 Duster to restore! What am I thinking? IDK! :D Thank you!
