Description of 1951 Plymouth Concord business mans coupe |
This is a real survivor rust free car from California. 68935 actual and original miles. I have the original California owner's certificate dated March 17th, 1951 and lots of paperwork, service records, receipts, registrations, etc. going back many years in CA. The car was pulled out a 20 year storage in CA and sent to New Jersey about 4 years ago. That owner spent about $2000.00 to make the car road ready again. I purchased it back in July with the intent of making a gasser out of it. There are a couple of pictures in this listing that show it with 9" pie crust slicks and mag wheels. Those have since been removed and are NOT INCLUDED in this sale. I just wanted to get an idea of what it was going to look like. Since then, I have purchased a Henry J gasser that is already set up. I was having second thoughts about modifying such an original car of this caliber anyway, so it is now up for sale. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTXGgrq9Wa4 If the link above to a youtube video works, you will see the car being started for the first time after sitting in storage for 20 years. If the link does not work. Search "1951 Plymouth Concord Business Coupe for sale" on youtube. You'll will see a video with an older gentleman sitting in the car talking about the start up. Body: Very nice and rust free. An older repaint job still shines but does show signs of age such as nicks, blemishes, minor dings etc. The biggest ding is on the right front fender near the headlight. It is visible in the pictures. The rest of them are very minor. The rear bumper has been re-chromed. All other chrome, stainless trim, pot metal, etc is original and in very good shape. The body lines and gaps are great. Glass is all good and work properly. Doors and trunk close like they should. All in all, I would not touch it. Door and trunk locks work as they should Driveline: All original and in excellent running condition. I have receipts for extensive work such as tune up, carb work, hoses, belts, brakes, shocks, brake hoses, battery, etc. Again, about $2000.00 worth of work. Motor starts right up. Choke works. Purrs like a kitten. Drives out great. Stops great. Plenty of power. New reproduction wide white wall tires. Interior: The seat has been recovered in a color and pattern that comes close to original. Everything else is original. The headliner is the worst part of it. The sun visors are in the trunk along with a radio delete plate that matches the wood grain color of the dash. All gauges work. Wipers work. Horn works. The radio works but since it is only AM it has static. Call Dave at ---- three 14-732-592 five ---- for honest answers to any and all questions before you place a bid.
