Description of 1949 Plymouth Suburban

East Coast Classics is proud to offer this absolutely gorgeous, and RARE 1949 Plymouth Suburban. Except for a small amount of surface rust, this car is RUST FREE! Rare, 2 door wagon. This is the only Plymouth Suburban that I have seen in person. Light blue over white and blue interior. Car was painted at one point in its life, and although it’s not a perfect paint job, it looks good, and gets tons of attention. Per the previous owner, the interior was done sometime in the early 90’s. Not original, but nice and clean. The previous owner inherited the car in 1994. I was told it had been in his family for 30 years prior to that. The brakes went bad in 1994, and he parked the car. It sat in a warehouse from then until December of 2019. The details on this car are incredible. It does a great job at representing the art deco style of the time. From the tail lights, to the bumpers, to the trim around the radio, this car screams 1940's, and shows off the post war design cues that designers were dreaming about while car production drew to a halt in support of the war effort. Truly classic, and well thought out design. I don't want to sound like a salesman, but you will not be disappointed with this car. It is a joy to have and drive, andof our inventory, it'smy absolute favorite car right now.

Spark PlugsCarburetor was rebuilt
Once we replaced the above items, it literally started on the first try! It is 100% roadworthy, and I have personally driven it for a few days, even entered it in an impromptu local 4th of July parade, and it performed flawlessly. No overheating. Windows roll smooth. Interior cleaned up great, and although not original, I wouldn't touch it.It shows very well, and I wouldn't hesitate for a second toenter it into any car show. I've had it parked in front of my house a couple times, and have witnessed people stop and take pictures. One family even took a family portrait! It's great to hear stories of people reminiscing, and some even get a tear in their eye. We deal with a lot of Porsche's and other specialty cars, and none have gotten more attention than this one!
Still on its original 6 volt system, and starts right up every single time. Still has it's original 218 cubic inch, 97 H, L-Head straight-six engine and column-shifted three speed transmission. All lights work, radio does not. Speedometer works, but odometer does not. I can't stress enough that this car is in great condition. It gets tons of attention wherever it goes.
Although this vehicle is in outstanding condition, I recommend that all potential buyers have an inspection conducted by either a professional, or come see it in person. depending on the style of offering, a bid, or an offer to purchase will be treated as if the buyer is satisfied with the condition, and is considered binding. In other words, do your inspections before you bid, or make an offer to purchase. I WILL NOT ALLOW INSPECTIONS AFTER THE SALE IS MADE. NO EXCEPTIONS. So ask your wife, or whoever you need permission from prior to entering into an agreement. We do not finance, so get your financing in order before you buy it. All inspections are to take placeat our location. We have a lift, and you or your inspector are welcome to it. We are a licensed dealer in the state of Florida. That said, unless you live out of state, out of the country,and/or are a Licensed Dealer, you must pay sales tax. There is a $195 Dealer Fee, which will be added to the final price. Full payment is due by 5:00 EST on the third day after the sale. Payment by wire transfer or cash only. We do not accept any checks, personal, or corporate, nor do we accept cashier's checks. Sorry folks, don't mean to sound like a jerk, but I've been burned by many people on eBay.
