Description of 1970 Plymouth Duster 340 |
This 1970 Plymouth Duster 340 is all about packing terrific V8 power into a compact, lightweight body. And not only do you get plenty of muscle, but there were investments in the paint, interior, and engine bay to keep it all looking tidy and attractive. Dusters always have a heighten desirability that comes from aggressive design. They carry the Coke-bottle curves that we love to see in other legendary Mopars like the 'Cuda. And the big blocky front end looks like it wants to push traffic out of the way with its shining chrome bumper. So a car like this deserves to be finished in the bold Rallye Red. The factory-correct color was given a professional respray later in life to give it a terrific luster in the sunshine. Dual hood scoops, Rallye wheels, wide dual exhaust tips, and a full-width rear spoiler add to the sporty style. And the full-length black stripe package draws attention to the curve of the body panels, as well as the Duster and 340 graphics. The white interior shows more of the solid investment in this coupe. The white upholstery and door panels are fresh and bright, and the black carpeting means showing little dirt on the high traffic areas. The wood-like trim and working AM radio are all part of a very vintage package. But you'll also love this for being a driver's machine. You get a high-back bucket seat with plenty of bolstering, a center console, upgraded auxiliary gauges, and Mopar's Tuff sports steering wheel. It all tells your senses to get ready for something special on the engine bay. When you pop the hood, you'll find out that the big callout on that hood didn't lie. It's a 340 cubic-inch V8, and it's dressed to impress. They installed a 1970-correct motor with a tidy look and matching Mopar Performance valve covers and air topper. The mighty V8 was given go-fast goodies, including an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer intake, revised heads, and a Comp Cams camshaft. It also has the right supporting components, like a serpentine belt system w/upgraded pulleys, steel-braided hoses, an MSD ignition, and a large aluminum radiator w/dual electric fans. It a strong V8 that makes a sweet rumble out of the H-pipe dual exhaust. And the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes w/front discs keep this a nice anytime cruiser. The sale comes complete with the owner's manual, service manuals, and build receipts. This Duster offers power and poise in an irresistible package. Call today!!! |
