Description of 1937 Plymouth PT-50 Pickup |
This 1937 Plymouth PT-50 is a rare pickup, and so it has been painstakingly restored to evoke the best nostalgia. So if you're looking for true classic style with true working-class roots, this is a distinctly awesome example. This was the debut year for the Plymouth PT line. They only lasted up until WWII, so any example is already quite rare. But this one is a true standout even amongst the few other Plymouths out there. It was part of a long-term restoration that was completed around 2009. The shining two-tone green and black makes for a terrific backdrop for the great details, including the rounded fenders, torpedo-like headlights, Plymouth full sail hood ornament, and fender-mounted full-size spare. Now that it's a true classic, it has some added flair, like the whitewall tires and shining chrome bumpers. And we especially like the pinstriping on the cab that also matches the delicate lines in the wheels. And while its hauling days should be over, you can't help but admire the work that could get done with proper oak bed rails and a steel floor truck bed. The interior was restored for the authentic classic truck experience. The exterior green returns on the dash and door tops, and now it's joined by a tasteful brown. So the two colors come together to look like springtime on the farm as the crops start to grow. A vinyl bench seat, smooth door panels, and durable carpeting are all about the classic truck experience. And the big steering wheel, Plymouth branded gauges, and tall shifter for the three-speed really let you feel this truck's history. It's even believed to be with the same California family for the first half of its life. So you can just imagine this Plymouth rolling thought the vineyards for decades. The 201 cubic-inch straight-six motor is the correct type for this pickup and it looks authentically presented. The engine, carburetor, distributor, brakes, and wiring were all said to have all been rebuilt during the restoration, and there's less than 100 miles on the truck since then. It really has a great authentic look right down to the correct decals. So you'll happily show off this full package. And the fresh undercarriage photos prove just how comprehensive the investment was in this Plymouth pickup. So no matter if you want this for a museum piece or parade vehicle, you'll be proud of this rare rolling history. This is the rare Plymouth PT-50 done to show-ready standards. So if you want the ultimate pre-war pickup, don't miss this Mopar. Call today!!! |
