Hey Mopar fans here's one you can enjoy without breaking the bank!! 1973 Plymouth Fury Gran Coupe (Sport Fury) 2 Dr. Hardtop with a date code correct 440 Super Commando HP!! This car originally came with a 400 big block 2 barrel motor, but original owner had dealership convert it to a 440 and labeled the car accordingly. This was a 1 family owned car up until 2021. I've owned this car for a couple years now, but no time to enjoy it as work (Chyrsler employee), family and kid's baseball is taking up all my time. As mentioned, the Fury has a 10-27-72 casting date 440 HP motor that was rebuilt with performance cam at the time of conversion. The motor runs strong with no smoke, funny noises, or major leaks. Has 60psi oil pressure at idle at operating temperature. Pulls hard through 727 torqueflite but with this trans you have to start in low 1 and shift manually to drive when you start out. After that it will kickdown and downshift automatically. The 8 3/4 rear end has been rebuilt completely with receipt. Fury has 2 1/2 inch new complete exhaust with Flowmasters and chrome tips. It flat out sounds awesome. Car came from factory with nice options like A/C (all there) but doesn't work, power steering and front disk brakes, bucket style bench with fold down armrest, dual remote mirrors, light group, extra moldings, that may have been part of Gran Coupe package which was the top trim level at the time.
The body and paint is still in good shape and car looks the same as it has for past 40 years. You could consider this Fury a "barn find" as it has been garage stored for many years as it is now. Car received a paint job in the 80's and did receive some patch panels in lower rear quarters and rockers. No visible rust and car has great bones. Trunk is original and mostly solid. Frame is completely solid as are the floors. Doors, fenders, deck lid are pretty solid. Bumpers are original and nice. Car has never been hit or damaged. Paint is showing its age and vinyl top was removed years ago. All the trim is there and in good shape. The interior is mostly original but there is no headliner. I have all the trim pieces for A and C pillars. Some of the seat material was replaced 30 to 40 years ago. The Fury has original 71,000 miles as car was parked for many years. Of course it can use a little TLC but this a good lookin body style that was a 1 year only. You can drive around, have fun, and do a little resto as you go. Very rare car as you just don't see many of these around anymore. I have a clean, green, Michigan title in my name. This Fury was purchased new in Virginia, spent about 10 years on East Coast before ending up in California, then Las Vegas, Nevada, Arizona, and back to Michigan 2 years ago. I have videos of car running with hood open, and also a view of temp and oil pressures. I also have pic of the 440 HP that is stamped on the front of block just below intake manifold. I will send via text if desired, Didn't want to try and go back and download. Please ask questions as needed and only bid if you are serious. I will cancel bids from bidders with no feedback unless you contact me first. I reserve right to end auction early at any time. I'm requesting a $500 non refundable deposit via Venmo within 24 hours after auction's end and full payment within 5 business days. Full payment to be received via cash, wire transfer, or bank deposit. Car does not leave until full payment is received. Car is sold "as is" with no warranty implied. I have some receipts for parts and repairs. My cell is 586-291-2247 but please serious only. I can help with transport services and car is currently garage stored. Happy bidding Mopar lovers!!
