Description of 1989 Pontiac Trans Am |
"ORIGINAL OWNER" A load of documentation, indow sticker, uild sheet, arranty paper work, ervice paper work, ress kit, wners kit, ndy 500 Jacket, int NOS 20th Annv Spark Plug Wires... This 68,000 mile TTA began duty as a Pontiac Exec Promo (PEP) car. It was then sold at a General Motors auction on its certificate of origin with 1335 miles on the odometer. I purchased the car on August 23, 990 from that dealer with 1452 miles on the odometer. The vehicle has never been wrecked and retains all original sheet metal. The overall body condition is in good/excellent original condition for it's age. There are a few minor dings, nd scratches that are noticed close up from normal age, ear, nd tear - the car was enjoyed, riven, hown, araged, nd maintained - not parked to become a trailer queen. The emblems were replaced recently with OER pieces. The door decals are showing some fade, nd the original set is still in the owner's kit. The spoiler has been replaced, he antenna was replaced with a correct unit. The nose and hood were repainted before I purchased the car because of airborne debris near the Van Nuys holding yard. The seats, eadliner, unvisors, -top shades, peaker cover panels have all been recovered in correct beechwood. New carpet was installed due to fading. All weather stripping is in good/excellent condition and has been replaced as needed with NOS parts over the years. The headlights flip up and down correctly. The rear hatch works properly. The battery is new. The original alternator was rebuilt not replaced. The engine was professionally rebuilt by Oddy's Race Perfection about 2200 miles ago. (All receipts to verify). The original heads and intake were sent out and done by Champion - street/strip and port matched to intake. Lunati cam and lifters were utilized in the rebuild. The original transmission was initially replaced by Pontiac under warranty. That unit was rebuilt when the engine was out and upgraded for heavy duty applications. A stall speed converter was installed. The rear ring and pinion were changed back in 1991 to I think a 3:55 gear. A new Precision TA5858 turbo unit was installed less than 30 miles ago along with 50lb injectors and a Tweak chip. There's a 3 bar regulator and XP Armstrong fuel pump to support more boost if wanted. The vehicle has an on board ANS boost controller and Scan Master. The exhaust exits through a Hooker 3" system and the car sounds great through the original s/s twin splitter tail pipes. All of the vehicles fluids have just been changed and I've been adamant about doing more maintthan required. I just installed new brakes using GM Delco pads and rotors, ew energy suspension stabilizer links, imken left axle seal, nd FelPro differential cover gasket. The steering wheel is in good condition except some minor leather aging at the top portion. The seat bolsters do not all work properly since I hadthe new leather installed, don't know if it's simple connection or hose to the bladders. Tires have plenty of tread, ut fronts are showing some cracking in between tread, ut don't leak air. Missing the two plastic caps which cover rear hatch strut bolts, nd two hooks which hold T-top bag. Radio turns on but will not tune to any station - steering control work. A/C blows ice cold when charged, ut slowly leaks out from hi pressure switch on compressor as recently discovered with dye test. I'm selling this car because I have another vehicle nearing completion of a frame-off restoration and I need to free up one space in my garage. Not interested in trades and I'm not going to give the car away. There are plenty of other examples out there which may have lower miles, ut most have had numerous owners, nd some do not retain all the original sheet metal. This example is extremely well kept, an be driven, hown, nd enjoyed with piece of mind that there's no bogus history. Initial deposit of $1500 due within 24 hours of winning bid. Balance in full due within7 businessdays of completed auction via cash in hand or certified bank money order.Vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel listing at any time. Will assistwith buyersshipper arrangements by delivering vehicle to location of pick up within 5 miles of 34231. |
