Description of 1971 Pontiac Le Mans LE MANS SPORT

1971 PONTIACLE MANS SPORTCONVERTIBLE1 of only 3865 Built!
You just don't find cars like this any more, his 71 LeMans Sport convertible was sold new in Lexington NC and stayed within a few miles of that its whole life. It has never seen road salt or the harsh winters the Northern cars see and is ROCK SOLID.I purchased it from and older gentleman that owned it since 1996 he stated the 62,055 miles shown on it are original and he included the yearly Inspection certificates to back that up. The paint appears to me mostly original it may have had some touch ups in spots and it needs to be repainted again just because its tired. There is a large scratch along the drivers side fender and door and a small dent over the rear drivers side bumper both happended while it was in storage. The body is super solid, he trunk is super solid and the floors look super solid from what I can see on the ground (I dont have a lift). You can even still read the vin number stamped in the rear frame rail! This car was sitting almost 10 years before I bought it. I changed out the oil and filter, nd gas installed some new plugs and a fresh fuel filter and it started right up and ran excellent. It does need exhasut it has a leak somewhere probably from sitting. It looks to be the original exhaust system. I have driven it locally and it runs good drives good and stops, /font>but I would not drive it any distance without a complete mechanical go thru. The interior is all original and dirty from sitting it is a bucket seat console and A/C car, he A/C is all there but the belt is not hooked up it may need a compressor. I have not tried to put the top down he said he was having issues with it before he parked it and I have not had any time to play with it. He thinks a hose might be leaking on the pump. The top has a rip on the passenger side as shown in the photos. All the glass is good and it still has its originall PMD rally wheels. This is an easy resto that you could drive as you restore. It will not need $5000 worth of sheet metal and rust repair. It is a very rare car being only 1 of 3865 built by Pontiac and is aRARE color combination of Castillian Bronze with a Sienna Interior and aSandalwood Convertible top.I will include the PHS papers from Pontiac to the winning bidder. don't miss out on this one it will go fast!PLEASE AS ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDINGCLEAR NC TITLE IN MY NAME!I CAN HELP LOAD WITH SHIPPING COMPANY IF YOU ARE NOT PICKING UPINTERNATIONAL BIDDERS WELCOME
