Description of 1979 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 |
Up for auction in my 1979 Trans Am. I have had this car since 1982 . It had a frame off restoration completed in 2007. The vehicle has less than a thousand miles on it since that restoration. Odometer reads 47,888 and the title is clean.I have done local car shows and have always received a trophy with two best of shows. Moving and life has happened and its time to sell her. Body, aint and interior was done by Trans Am Specialties in Miami Florida ($17,620) have receiptsand she is very straight and very clean. All panels are original to the car except the front bumper cover and flares which were installed new and are real GM parts.. The car never had any rust anywhere and was always garaged. All suspension items are new. Control arms, enter links, ie rods, dler arm, teering gear, prings front and rear. New Hotchkis front and rear springs have lowered the car 1 inch to give her the look she needed. Every bushingon the car has been replaced the urethane bushings. Front control arms and rear leaf springsare fitted with Global West Del-A-Lump bushing kits. Body mounts are urethane as well. Shocks are Koni all around. Tie rods are connected with Hotchkis sleeves. Tires are new. Sub frame connectors are installed. Ever item in brake system is new. Calipers, otors, aster cylinder, rake booster, roportioning valve, nd stainless steel brake lines. Rear has been rebuilt and GM 3.42 gears were installed. Exhaust is Pypes Performance stainless exhaust. Engine is a rebuilt1973 Pontiac 455 bored 30 over. Edelbrock Performer RMP intake and Edelbrock 87cc RPM cylinder heads and Elderbrock Performer RPM camshaft. 1.65 roller tip rockers. Holley carburetor, am Air IV exhaust manifolds and a March Performance serpentine pulley system. Starter, lternator, ower steering pump, uel pump are new. Trans is a Muncie 4 speed. Radiator, ondenser, vaporator core, nbsp;heater core are all new. A/C is not hooked up. Hoses need to be made and Freon installed. All rubber and weather strips are new and GM. Basically all new and GM parts were used except for the performance items. Some things that need to be addressed: There is one broken tooth on the flywheel. So you can hear a clunk sometimes when starting as the starter gear passes by that space where the tooth was. Slight 3/8 of an inch crack on the top of the dash that was a result of when the heater core was replaced. Easy fix though, orns don't work because only because they were noinstalled. Easy fix. Emergency brake has not been hooked up. All cables are there but its just something like the horns I just haven't had time for. Car has been in storage. and properly stored. I have driven here 2 to 3 times a year to local shows. I always come home with a plaque or trophy. She is a clear 9 out of 10. One of the nicest Trans Ams you will ever see. Runs super strong. She is a beast, ower on top of power, oundsand handles like a dream. Its will take you back. She's been built the way Trans Ams should have been built. Vehicle is sold as is with no warranty.
