This is the car you always dreamed a 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am could be. There's a huge upgrade under the hood to make this coupe finally perform as good as it looks.The second generation Trans Am was a seriously intimidating package. It only gets better as this whole car looks like it's breathing fire thanks to the blazing paintwork. It's the kind of bright red that helps grab attention away from the black Smokey and the Bandit replicas. In fact, his one reminds us a bit of another famous Burt Reynolds Pontiac. So that engine has been ditched recently in favor of a larger 455 block, rom an era when muscle cars still had real muscle. This whole setup was rebuilt 1,500 miles ago to include a durable nodular iron crank and newly machined heads (2.11 x 4.980 intake and 1.77 x 5.230 exhaust.) New go-fast add-ons include a Lunati camshaft (490 lift, 92 duration, 10 centerline), 030 TRW overbore forged pistons, allory high-output performance distributor, nd Doug Thorley ceramic coated headers. You better believe these upgrades help make a serious rumble out of the quad-tip dual Flowmaster exhaust. All this power is sent through a stout TH350 three-speed automatic. It includes a Summit Racing 2500 RPM stall converter to keep this motor deeper into its powerband at all times. Of course the Trans Am was known to be one of the best handling cars of its time, o this one knows how to go around corners. This is enhanced by the front disc brakes and grippy BF Goodrich G-Force Tires riding on 17-inch American Racing alloy wheels.
