Description of 1985 Pontiac Fiero GT Turbo |
Long story short my father and I spent about 2.5 years building this car from the frame up. The car has a salvage title from being in a flood many years ago. The car was stripped down to its bare frame and every aspect of the car was looked over and rebuilt or restored. The vehicle originally had a 1985 "notchback" style body on it. This was then converted over to a full 1988 "fastback" style body. In addition to the 1988 body panels, he car has "Archie V8" rocker panel scoops, uarter window scoops, custom functional decklid scoop, custom functional hood scoop, ustom from chin spoiler, ustom carbon fiber paint matched rear wing, nd flushmount headlights. The car only has ~10,000 miles on it from the rebuild. I then moved across the US for college and the car stayed back at home in storage. It's been in storage for about 5 years now and it's time to finally let go of it. I've also got a spare 5 speed Getrag tranny (28,xxx original miles), -speed tranny, nd other miscellaneous parts. If you purchase the car for $4,000 or more, ou are welcome to have whatever spare parts you want to grab. The car was originally built N/A with intentions of turbocharging at a later date. I initially had a smaller turbo (.40/.48) on the car and decided to go bigger. The car has gone through about a dozen iterations through Sinister Performance for an initial tune on the smaller turbo. One winter I bought a rebuilt T3/T4 Hybrid .60/.63 turbo, s well as a new turbo specific camshaft too install to get ready for when I was done with school the following summer. However, ended up staying out of state so I never got around to coming back to the car to drive it. The larger turbo and camshaft were installed on the car and have less than 50 miles on them. The car DOES currently drive. Pros Engine/drivetrain 3.4L Camaro bottom end and heads Fully blueprinted and balanced motor (stock compression) (10,000 miles on the rebuild) Custom turbo kit with a newly rebuilt Garrett T3/T4 Hybrid .60/.63 turbo (<50 miles) (oil and water cooled) Crane Cams 253901 H-260-2 cam. There are quite a few spots on the car when paint has peeled off and will need to be repaired. The left door of the car is in primer as it was damaged in storage a couple years ago and will need to be repainted. The chin spoiler will need to be repainted The car has a pretty basic tune completed by Sinister Performance but will need to be dialed it a bit better. It is running very rich right now. Car needs a new rear decklid lock Minor surface rust in engine compartment from sitting for 5 years. Let me know if you have any questions. The vehicle is located near Glendale Heights, L. I've got some photobucket links for more pictures upon request. |
