Description of 1958 Pontiac Bonneville Bonneville |
The car is a 1958 Pontiac Bonneville. featuring: Factory Air Suspension Factory Air Conditioning 49. 00 Actual Miles Original Interior (other than carpet) (Patina Ivory & Redwood Copper) Original Paint Color (Patina Ivory) Original type White Wall Tires Correct Original Wheel Covers It's won numerous awards at Local. Regional & National Pontiac Shows. The car has never been wrecked. The car was re-painted in 1988 to show standards. The bumpers are correct & original to the car & have been re-chromed. Pontiac made 9. 44 Bonneville’s (2 Door Hardtops) Only a few dozen had BOTH Factory Air Suspension & Factory Air Conditioning Pontiac (& other GM products) used the Air Suspension in 1958 and 1959 only. I've been told that Cadillac used Air Suspension in 1957 and 1960 as well. Buick. Old. Chevy & Caddy parts DO NOT INTERCHANGE. There were so many problems with the cars leaking air. that use of that feature was canceled for over 20 years. Many cars that were Air Suspended were converted over to normal coil spring/ shock absorbers to solve the problem of leaking air when the motor was not running. We also have duplicate parts. for just about everything on the Air Suspension system. None of those parts are for sale separate from the car. they will be sold as a package deal only. **In the photographs I've been careful to show the car in the normal driving height and the raised height. There is also a photo of the normal coil spring which most cars use. beside one of the correct air bags that this car uses. Several photos show the front and rear of the car raised and at normal height so you can see the difference of about 4. 5" - 5" depending on the temperature and elevation when being operated. If any viewers are wondering why the car has the ability to be raised. it's was necessary so that during times when the cars were to be serviced on the suspension of any of the 4 wheels. this made it easier because when raised. blocks could be inserted to prevent if from settling back down and thus allowed more work space. THIS IS THE ONLY 1958 Pontiac that's been seen working properly. on PONTIAC issued parts at the Regional or National Shows. since before 1984. Original only happens ONCE. Rare Factory Features & Low Production Numbers MATTER. This car belongs in a museum or the possession of a high end collector. |
