Description of 1988 Pontiac Grand Am |
For Sale is my 1988 Pontiac Grand Am. It is very difficult to find a 1985-1988 Pontiac Grand Am which have some distinctive features such as the flat nose and grill. I searched for about 3 years before finding one clean enough for me to consider. The mileage is about 70. 00 miles. I believe the odometer is working correctly. The car runs and drives well. The transmission was rebuilt a couple of summers ago and works well. It is not driven often and has been garaged for most of the time I have owned this Grand Am. I put a toggle switch on the fan since the relay operating the fan is not working properly. I put the toggle switch under the hood as a temporary fix. It is only needed when driving the car for a while and where stopping or standing is a possibility. The car is original with the exception of the Alpine radio/cd player I installed because I thought the original did not work. It turned out to be a wiring problem. I still have the original radio/cassette which of course would go with the car. Overall the interior is very clean with a couple of tears in the driver's seat. Sound system is above average. Power windows are all working. Power door locks are sluggish but try to work: the mechanism simply has gotten worn to the point that the switch cannot physically move the lever completely. All lighting and lighting switches work and are in good condition as shown in photos. Someone put window tinting in and this needs to be removed. The only switch that appears to not work is the Performance Sound button located on the drive door panel. The dome light and floor lights are not working presently. The exterior is in good condition considering age. The paint is scratched and touched up. There area few dents. A good repaint would be desirable. The passenger side mirror has damage but I have a replacement for that mirror. There is a problem with braking which I have not addressed. The problem involves the brakes locking up when the brake pedal is pressed hard. I am sure it needs new brakes. A very good drive as you restore car or just a nice classic age vehicle to own and drive. I am starting bidding at $2500. I would like cash in person by the buyer. I will have all paperwork available at that time to transfer ownership. Thanks for looking. |
