Description of 1965 Pontiac Le Mans |
|
This pampered 3 owner 1965 Pontiac LeMans has spent it's entire life in the same Southern California neighborhood. Purchased new at Martin Pontiac in Lancaster, Ca. in Dec 1965 as a Christmas gift. It remains rust free in the High Desert 60 miles North of L.A. All work on car was done Locally in Lancaster, Ca. The original owner lived on 35th St West in Lancaster, the car moved to 25th St West in 1982 and to 32nd St West in 2012. I have all reg and receipts going back to 1982. It has the original black Ca license plates. I spent way too much restoring the car. It was a labor of love as it is the same model and color I had in high school in 1972. Numbers matching 2 dr hardtop car w/ bucket seats & console Engine rebuilt to .60 over by Manuel Avila at Division Engine Rebuilders, Lancaster, Ca. Tires and wheels from Angel Aguilar at Tonys Tires Lancaster, Ca. Wheels are Rally II 15" from 1967 (I don't like the factory rally I's) I also have a spare set of 14" rally II's, I will throw in and 2 factory 2 BBL manifolds w/ carbs. This car is solid and ready to drive. I invested over $29,500 and loved every minute. My wife is in the hospital, I have to part with the car. My cars name is Lisa Marie, please don't turn her into a phony GTO. All replacement parts were ordered from Ames Performance Engineering, Sufford, N.H. I spent a little over $4,000 in parts from them. They are pricey but they have great customer service. Car is numbers matching. Body rubber molding (trunk, hood, windows, etc) are new. Hood insulation is new. Car has power steering, power brakes, heater and non-factory AM/FM C/D. New Gabriel Air shocks in rear and KYB's shocks in front. There is a big speaker box in trunk, I did not want to cut holes in the package tray or door panels. |
