Description of 1989 Pontiac Firebird |
ATTENTION *** READ ENTIRE AD PRIOR TO BID!! THIS AD IS FOR THE SALE OF ONE EXTREMELY RARE VEHICLE!! THANKS
1989 Pontiac Turbo Trans AM “INDY 500 FESTIVAL CAR” 20th Anniversary #114 of 150. Celebrity owned with full documentation from the Pontiac Historical Society. This extremely rare, OFFICIAL PACE CAR is the 114th car out of 150 Indy 500 FESTIVAL CARS built for the race in 1989. This car is DOCUMENTED with (3) autographed confirmation letters proving its authenticity from its first titled owner who took delivery from the track in 1989 to be racing legend Dick Simon (Team Owner/Driver/Chief Mechanic) “Dick Simon Racing”. Dick Simon told me this festival car was assigned and driven by Bobby Unser at the festival prior to his purchase from Indy in 1989. These cars were the first to ever pace the Indianapolis 500 without having to be performance modified to obtain the levels required to pace this race! Its legendary Buick Grand National drive train and the same intercooler and ceramic wheel turbo used in the GNX, special heads, higher boost level, and aerodynamics of the Pontiacs sleek design made the Trans Am the fastest of the three! However, still not fast enough for this racing legend it was professionally modified by Dick Simon “Dick Simon Racing” with a special chip, in car dial-a-boost, special exhaust, fuel enhancement system, open ram air cleaner, suspension upgrades and who knows what else? This ROCKET car accelerates and handles with the crazy performance levels of exotic supercars of today! No disappointments, eat off the undercarriage, clean car fax, clean auto check history, no rust EVER. Some very minor, repeat very minor stone chips/flaws from the legends use over the years, only if scrutinized by the ridiculously fussy! Too clean and original to repaint… 63K documented miles, flawless cloth interior, exclusive to the festival cars with no bolster or seat wear, T-tops don’t rattle, leak or squeak, arrow straight body, fully loaded, everything works. RARE SPECIAL LICENSE PLATE FROM INDY. Books/manuals/press release/history/autographs... This is an extremely rare piece of automotive Indy history with full documentation (See with pictures). More pictures upon request. Car is for sale locally as well. Seller reserves the right to end the auction early. $500 due at the end of auction On Sep-15-16 at 13:55:16 PDT, seller added the following information: Any questions, please e-mail me at bdoescher@gmail.com |
