1977 PONTIAC TRANS AM SE This is a real SE with written documentation, Y-82, 4-speed manual transmission, Hurst T-Tops and extras. BUYER is responsible for vehicle pick-up or shipping. This car is sold "as is". SELLER'S PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS: DEPOSIT: Via PAYPAL, US $1,000.00 within 24 hours of Auction close FULL PAYMENT: Required within 7 days of Auction close, Via CERTIFIED CHECK, CHECK MUST CLEAR FIRST! RARE, 1977 SPECIAL EDITION BLACK TRANS AM. This is a P.H.S. documented, made in 1977. The car was sold to me with a non-matching block. Since the engine had been replaced, I decided to build a real Pontiac engine that would compliment the SD, but most important, still remain Pontiac. I started to research Pontiac engines and found Jim Hand's book ("How to Build Max-Performance Pontiac V-8s"). Pg. 22: "As part of the weight-saving program, the 400 blocks were redesigned with lighter main saddles and thinner cylinder walls, during the mid-1975 production year. For high-performance, higher RPM applications, earlier production blocks are preferred". Whether or not you agree with what he wrote, I decided to follow his suggestion. I found a 1971-72 Pontiac 400 block, and working with SD-Performance (from Canada), we built a real Pontiac Stroker. I have a copy of the build-sheet for the parts that went into the engine. The block and engine work were done by Mardinly's of Broomall, PA. The block was bored 30 over and I used Ross forged pistons. I had a Tomahawk windage tray installed with a 60 lb. Mellings oil pump. I bought a brand new FORGED CRANK SHAFT with an increased stroke volume 4.25. The original Pontiac heads 6X-4 were stripped to the core, totally rebuilt, CNC'd and ported. I have included the paperwork on the heads, they were ported for 260 cfm. They were done by SD-Performance (Dave Bisschop, SD-Performance, British Columbia, (.sdperformance.com). Pictures included. The car was Dyno'd on the Mustang Dynamometer unit by Collingdale Performance, Collingdale, PA. If you go to their website,.collingdaleperformance.com, you can search for the car, or YouTube, enter77 Trans Am dynoedit will be listed by Collingdale Performance, and see the owner performing the test to my car. I used ceramic headers. The engine was built in November, 2010 at the time the speedometer was 42252. as of today the speedometer is 44744. so the true mileage on the new engine as of today is 2,492. miles. This engine is still breaking in . I have invested over $ 10,000. between parts and the actual building of this engine. Unfortunately between home life and the demands of my job the car sits in my garage. The interior is in excellent condition. I had the dash bezel restored by Randy Combs. The car is very solid and is garage-kept. The car is stored from November until April, every year and NEVER driven in the rain! To my knowledge, the 4-speed trans is original and so is the rear. I had brand new air shocks installed last year so it rides like you're on air. This car is a real Muscle Car with the most expensive parts on the inside, and Pontiac on the outside. The car comes with original Hurst T-Tops. I have an original CB radio with Pontiac instructions, purchased, but never installed, I am including this in the sale. The air-conditioner and radio both work. There is an 8-track system, but it is not hooked-up. I could have put aluminum heads but I wanted to keep the car as original as possible so I used the original heads. This car is VERY, VERY fast!! I'm including the build sheets which show the production of the engine and all the parts used. I tried to take the best pictures I could, if you require additional pictures, I can provide them. I AM NOT INTERESTED IN ANY TRADES or OFFERS LOWER THAN MY RESERVE! This car is a collector's item and will only appreciate in value because unlike the clones, or the Bandit look-alikes that are being manufactured today, this car IS A REAL SPECIAL EDITION! Also new this year are the Tires i bought them in June 2016.I also bought off of E-Bay the correct not used 1977 stereo still in its original box that i was going to installLast year i bought the Dynomax VT mufflers and had them put on it makes the car growl when you accelerate down the street Also the car was signed by Burt Reynolds when he came to the comic-con in Philadelphia and also Richard Rollins when he came to the Oaks in Pottstown Pa for a car show.I include the tickets from the comic-con and the pen Burt used to sign the glove box door. This car is very solid and between the paper work showing it is a real SE and not a clone and Burts and Richards signature it will only appreciate with time.Last year I also had those sub- frame stabilizing beams added on they are welded on under the car and they tight up the car and improve the ride. |
