Description of 1967 Pontiac GTO

1967 Pontiac GTO ConvertibleReal Deal PHS Documented 242 GTOFrame Off RestoredHighly Optioned CarPower Steering Power TopRare Factory 4 Piston Power Disc Brakes3. 42 Posi Rear EndSport Deluxe Steering WheelIf you are looking for a GTO to tinker with in the garage on the weekends and improve upon and upgrade. this car is not for you. However. if you are looking for a true investment grade GTO with completely uncut original sheetmetal and numbers matching. this car is for you. This GTO was professionally frame off restored some years ago and only enjoyed a few thousand miles on it since then. I have pictures of the comprehensive restoration and you will see them here. This is a real Regimental Red. Code "R" GTO Convertible with code "224" parchment white interior. The car retains it's original 400 engine. fully rebuilt. The engine is a YS code. the car was originally a TH-400. but a absolutely factory correct date coded Muncie was installed. I have the #'s matching TH-400 and console if you so wish to make it a automatic again. Although 1967 Pontiacs did not have the partial VIN stamped into the block until 1968. we know this is the original engine via the EUN or. Engine Unit Number. which is on the PHS broadcast sheet. and corresponds to the EUN on the engine block. in this case the number is 631281. The original 670 heads were reworked with hardened valve seats to encourage long life with todays unleaded gasoline. The 400 roars to life with a flick of the key and a pump of the gas. jumping off the fast idle with a additional bump of the gas pedal. The M-21 transmission engages firmly into all gears. and the clutch is very strong. Absolutely no transmission whine in any gear. Steering is easy with power steering and the car is very tight and straight because obviously. the front end is completely rebuilt. The feel of the optional sport deluxe wheel is great on your hands and resonates that old time road feeling right through your hands. Stopping is great. because the car is equipt wit the optional and very rare factory 4 piston disk brakes. which of course. are power. No worrying about adjusting your drums every few hundred miles. The car will spin both rear tires on demand thanks to a fully rebuilt 3. 42 posi rear end which is also original to this car. The body on this GTO is truly spectacular. arrow straight. with not a dent or ding anywhere. The paint is been rubbed out to a super high gloss and the paint is flat as a pancake. The chrome is also very nice. with both bumpers replated. no chinese reproductions here. The parchment interior is largely original. with restoration to the wood grain panels and a new carpet. It shows very well. with no appreciable wear on anything. The car has been completely gone though. every nut has been turned. and is ready to enjoy. One button lowers the white power top. a flick of the key starts her up. and she's ready to go cruising or to your local show. The air cleaner is signed by famed vintage Pontiac racer Arnie "The Farmer" Beswick. This car is a investment grade GTO. not some body shop special pig in lipstick. The car has been fully independantly inspected and appraised by a vintage Pontiac specialist in the area. The car is Pontiac Historical Society documented. and I have all original documentation. including the Protect-O-Plate. If the 4 speed does not float your boat. I have a original 1967 automatic console and shifter. as well as a TH-400. and can be swapped out for no charge.
