Description of 1980 Pontiac Trans Am |
If you are using an Ebay App scroll down for more high quality pictures. When I began the journey to owning this Trans Am, I was smart about it, very smart. I got an education on the subject, a very good education because I did not want to have an average Trans AM. To be frank with you, I had a vision of making my garage great again. I will be the first one to admit, my garage was far from great, I let the wrong people influence me and I had a mini-van in my garage as a result. Sure it was a nice mini-van, but your garage can't be great if it has a mini-van in it. So I did what any reasonably minded person would do, I locked up the mini-van in the driveway where it belongs. You can do your own homework on these cars, but I'll save you the trouble on one point that interested me: The Nascar logo, what is that all about? A regional variant of these cars existed. I have included a picture of the order form for the decal, it was a dealer option. I have found no reliable source of information how many folks ordered these, but I can tell you they are not reproduced anymore. The prior owner performed a cosmetic restoration of the car in preparation of it's second phase of life, which had it being a trailer queen taken around the show circuit. He pampered and loved on the car but I wanted a car I could drive. My mechanic, who is a fantastic mechanic by the way, one of the very best, went through the car for me to make sure it was in safe working order. Fluids were changed and flushed, the brakes and suspension were all gone through. I can tell you that it drives excellent. It shifts, brakes, steers and obviously runs well. This Trans Am retains it's original sheet metal and the panel fitment is good. The interior is as close to new as one could reasonably expect for an old car. One look under the hood and you will agree it is award winning. The under carriage is in very good condition and could be show ready with more effort. This car meets and in many instances exceeds Nada's definition of Average Retail. I don't say that in a braggadocios way. I just want you to know that this is a very, very nice car. I am sure there are nicer ones out there, but I am proud of my Trans Am and want you to understand this is not your local bondo buggy. This is a solid car that can be enjoyed, driven and will be the envy of your neighbors. I am transitioning into a new chapter in my life and this car no longer fits the equation for me. Don't get me wrong, I will be happy to keep it, but I've only driven it 145 miles! Speaking of owning it, I actually own it, it's titled in my name and yes I paid my taxes, so there will be no bullarky with the title. If you haven't yet, you will find many people selling cars on Ebay that don't actually title them. That is not smart, in fact it is stupid, very, very stupid. So as you can see from my feedback, there will be no disappointments, I am a square trader and want you to be enthusiastically happy about the buying experience. If you have any questions please ask prior to bidding. In person inspections are welcomed and encouraged. This is not an auction for the right to negotiate the price, you will pay what you bid or you will have a unhappy ride home. If you do not use Paypal, don't bother biding a deposit is required and I won't sell it to you. I welcome international bidders, I love international bidders, I personally know many of the greatest international bidders...but know that all funds will need to clear my account before the car or title leave my possession. Keep in mind that I am 20 minutes from the Port of Baltimore and minutes off Interstate 95. You can drive this car home if you would like.
